Hi - Bonjour
Just had to let everyone know that last night, here in Montreal, U2 asked their marvellous opening act Arcade Fire, back on stage for the 2nd last encore and they performed "Love will tear us apart" brilliantly.
I thought my heart might burst with joy. Most of the 20,000+ fans in attendance sang along.
Thank you.
Merci.![]()

Fair play, Arcade Fire played a few Neworder songs at a gig a couple of weeks back, some kind soul put up the mp3 version of Age Of Consent. And as much as we all slag U2 these days it's good to see they are still doing the odd Joy Division song, it's a mark of respect whatever way you look at it.
Next question is.....who's got an mp3 copy of this? :D
went to Montreal many years ago, and saw the Expos play baseball at the Big O. great city, except i couldn't understand anyone, except my relatives who used to live there.
Just a reminder, to all by the way, Bono did write "A Day Without Me" about Ian - whom he knew and admired.
No problem. And you're welcome. Thanks for the set-list by the way - hopefully you'll be a the DM show on the 4th? Perhaps we'll see you there.
PS: When was the last time NO played in Montreal or in Canada at all for that matter (Toronto doesn't count)?
PPS: I had a dream once of a triple bill with Midge Ure, New Order and Bowie. Oo![]()

It's bad enough, posting about Depeche gig's, but 3 exact posts, there is no need for that !

did bono get on his knees and look to the sky to praise ian, or anything bono-esque like that?

Yes, I have floor tickets and will be there with my wife...
The last time New Order played in Montreal was in 1989 at the forum, I had to go to Toronto in 1993 and New York in 2005 to see them.
They did Vancouver in 2001.

Well, we can hardly complain about that![]()
but at least Barney stands to read his.
Thought it was quite a good performance actually.
Perhaps my husband and I could meet you before the show for a beverage. Up to you. Also, we have to get New Order here. It's been way way way too long. Any idea why they haven't been coming? By the way - the triple post was due to a computer glitch-the old girl is failing fast. Merde.
