I received today (finally) after the 2nd try my Guilt Is A Useless Emotion promos (2 CDRs, one being the Consumer version, the other being the Dj version -- will post scans later)

Although I have listened to the remixes before due to somebody here buying another promo CD (which I'm starting to question the origin)

Those remixes are really GOOD, Guilt is probably the best remixable track on WFTSC, and it shows.

The DJ Dan Club mix and Bill Hamel Vocal mix are pretty good, as his the Pink Noise mix, but I do prefer the first 2 ones.

Blueplate is not bad, but it's not the best one.

This has potential to be a really good club hit... and most of those remixes include Hooky in it, so it's a good thing.

I have a feeling we'll see Turn with Guilt remixes as b-side soon... but no inside info about that, a gut feeling...

I was all over the MARK! remixes last week. This week, I like the Morel versions, though.

If I played at some hipster club, I'd break out the Hamel or Dan mixes, they have a rockier edge.

But you KNOW I have the GIAUE disc in my record bag as we speak, just in case i get into some DJ hi-jinx after work, lol* :)

Guilt was one of my "take it or leave it" tracks off the album, and the Mac Quayle mix just seemed to be another attempt to find the hook in a not-so-great song. But...I'm digging the remixes in a big way. Turns out it just needed a good hit of adrenaline.

I'm a Morel fan, and his take is my least favorite (though still solid). The DJ Dan mix is fantastic with a sinister edge that really helps the lyrics go down easier. The Bill Hamel mix is also excellent and a big improvement over the album version. No Superman Lovers bullshit, no reggae...highly recommended.

Now how about an actual CD release of the DJ mixes?

I haven't had the pleasure of listening to the remixes yet, but just from the original version, it has plenty of potential to be remixed...obviously, some remixes of some songs are just horrible, though.

Once again, Rich Morel does the BEST mix....

but being a Morel fan, I'm biased. The man is consistent. Very consistent.

So, is the Blueplate Vix the same as MARK!'s True N.O. Vox? It has the same running time? If so, I just need to track down a promo with those 'consumer' versions on.

How many of these CD-Rs are around? #

At this point, I'm happy to get to the extended versions from the Promo CD on Ebay. If I can do a trade for the edits, I will, but they really don't do anything for me.

All they do is spoil a good remix.

It's the same mix.. don't ask me about the other name.

I have no idea how many of those exists

Apparently, Mark! is Mark Picchiotti, who runs his own dance label out of Chicago called Blueplate Records

I agree. I love Richard Morel's remixes, especially the remix of "True Faith".
