Great though, innit? I've managed to re-keep in touch with mates from 20 years ago all across the world. These computer gidgets are cool - I wonder when we'll be able to send electronic letters to each other? It must come soon. I'm sure Microsoft must be working on it...

can't compare them. London Calling is the better album. but Joy Division were the better band. imo anyway.
I love the Clash - a great rock n roll band - but much as I love London's Calling, it's kind of a mish-mash of punk, rocksteady, radio rock and R&B, nothing more. It works brilliantly, but is essentially backwards looking. Compare it to the way that UP joined cold, alien soundscapes with Ian Curtis's raging passion and there's only one winner here. UP was new music then, and it still sounds starkly original 26 years on.
