Singles CD for Xmas?

Ok, say someone owns pretty much everything New Order has put out over the years, including their Best Of and Retro box set.

Is there any reason that person would want to ask for the Singles cd for xmas?

Just wondering. Yep, I know it has already been discussed, but I am too lazy to filter out all the Lacy and all the Bono sucks posts to find the answer....

I mean, besides getting to hear the tracks reversed left to right, why would an old fan buy Singles? And this is a serious question, I am not trying to be all mean and smug...

I know that I'm going to get their "Singles" because it has the band's name on it. I'm annoyed with the number of anthologies that NO already has, but NO is my obsession. It's fun to see how their sound has changed over the years.

YES. There are appx 6/7 edits on Singles that are either not avaible on CD or difficult to find. If you want a great sounding version of the original 7" for Ceremony, then buy the discs.

Even though the 7" of Ceremony is on it I doubt I will be bothering to buy it.... the artwork is so cheap and crap for one thing.

I think the last decent lp art was Lowlife... MAYBE technique.... and barely arguably the Substance leaf.....

and you could almost almost barely argue that Republic had a touch of class, despite the overphotoshopped stock photos....

but since 93, ???? and thus, if you bought product since then, why boycott Singles?

whatever you choose to do with your money is your business but as a longtime fan with every possible version of every track already, i have thoroughly enjoyed listening to Singles as a complete package. It's good fun and probably the most complete collection of newOrder tunes short of Retro. i recommend it over other comps but if 20 bucks is going to kill you, don't buy it.

Bought my copy of Singles today. It ROX! It's worth my money, especially when I hear different versions of some of the tracks. The program insert features all of the singles' covers. And there is the famous picture of the band laying on the floor that includes Gillian. Gillian, come back!
