Yeah, I used to work with Suzanne, she's cool. Married/partnered to Kim Gyngell (aka Col'n Carpenter) if I recall.

The name Suzanne Dowling brings back wonderful memories of her giving me my musical education on Rock Arena back in the eighties. In the late nineties my best friend Sonja and I went to see a film at the Kino Cinemas in Collins St, Melbourne, and the woman we bought our tickets off was the above said Suzanne. I was completely stunned, and before i knew it i was blurting out all sorts of crap about how if i hadn't watched her on Rock Arena i would still be listening to Abba or some equally worse shit. Sonja was incredibly embarrassed by my outburst and had to physically drag me away fom my "teacher" while i was saying "thankyou, thankyou so much, just, you know, thankyou" when we got into the cinema Sonja looked at me and said "you stupid fucking idiot, what the fuck do you think you're doing, do you think she gives a fucken shit who you are, she's just trying to do her job and you come along and completely fucking humiliate her in front of her work collegues, do you think she wants to be reminded of her past, good one mate". When we came out of the cinema after the film had finished there was no Suzanne Dowling to be found for me to heap more salutations upon, much to my dissapointment and Sonja's relief. As for her husband Kym, around the same time i saw his wife, i saw him in a Safeway store in Acland St, St Kilda nicking a jar of Nestle coffee, and i swear this is true. At first I wasn't sure if he had really done it, but the guilty, paranoid look on his face after he had picked up the coffee from the shelf and then slipped it underneath his trenchcoat convinced me. I have no idea why he did it, but i know he did it.
