There are some things around, but to be perfectly honest...if you learn all the chords in the keys of C major, D minor and A minor....you'll work about 75% of their songs out in a slpit second! If we're talking keyboard, a useful rule of thumb for most tunes is, if you're playing a black note you're playig a bum note :)
If you're computer music minded there is a big ass pack of NO MIDI files floating around the net somewhere (used to be on here somewhere dunno if it still is), a lot of sequencers allow you to throw multiple traks into an editor, and some of them, my beloved cubase will read them all at once and give you a chord spelling for what's playing at any given moment. It's out of it's mind, and will read melody notes as chord tensions if you don't filter them out (yeah, NO ever used a minor 9 flat thirteenth...NOT), but it helps.

i have them here somewhere (there's 400GB of shit attached to my system). Some of them are first rate. Some of them suck ass, and some of the start well and lose interest after 4 bars.
It doesn't help that the PC running you-know-what is about as MIDI standard as a mango sundae. I had all sorts of odd things happen in some of them, phantom controller data and the like.

For the bridge to ceremony every tab site says: 8-10-10-9-8-8 which doesn't sound right- or is it just that I'm playing it on acoustic/my guitar's out of tune.
I got the midi files from here about a year ago, but they seem to have been removed since as there now only seems to be about 3 in the multimedia section.
the majority of them are crap anyway, as stated above the first couple of bars are there then they just drop to drums, I think they were someone work in progress, I wonder if they ever got finished.
by the way, here to stay isn't bad, but as with all midifile suffers from GM sounds.
As there are some talented musicians on this site, surely we could come up with a decent collection of midifiles between us, but publishers being the tight fisted gets they are, we Nick might get told off, yahoo home page (UK) had a story yesterday about publishers caraking down on sites that use lyrics without consent, sounds petty to me, and if someone was given consnt 20 years ago, would the AGE OF CONSENT come into play, or could I be fined for using that phrase, money grabbing tossers
Not read the article you mentioned.... but i'll bet this....the publishers in question are no such thing, a tenner says it's th in-house publishing depts of record companies!
If you're ever looking a record deal...never take the in-house publishing contract. A 3rd party publisher, who only gets paid when you sell records, is an excellent device to annoy stick-in-the-mud A+R depts.
IS NO's publishing still with BeMusic or whoever it was? Or did all that get absorbed wholesale?
