has anyone heard the JacquesLucConte remix of DepecheMode's "A Pain That I'm Used To", which is currently charting bigtime?

Its a great mix, but there's a bass line in there that sounds to me like it was ripped out of that J-E-T song....

anyone agree?

Quite possible, since they were mixed/produced by the same guy - i.e. Stuart Price (aka Jacques Lu Cont) :D

At least he didnt sampled ABBA's Gimme Gimme Gimme for this.....phew!

Y'know I've perpetually ignored that guy ever since I watched "The shpe of things that hum" in which he badmouths the fairlight and sings the praises of the DX7. That puts him in the same general territory as Salmon Rushdie is in with the average Ayatolah as far as I'm concerned.

I'm told that my petty bigotry has cost me hearing some good tunes. but i don't care :)

I downloaded the song and yes, Stuart Price (Jacques Lu Cont) sampled Hooky's bass on Jetstream for the remix...

I must say some people will wet their pants on this site, DM and NO together

Not a big fan of Jacques LuCont but I like the work he's done for both bands. Good that he sampled it, it probably needed it - there's not many single-worthy tracks on the new DM album, imo.

DM will also be following in NO's footsteps by playing The Coachella Festival in 2006

yeah, I find it funny as well.

IMO, the ultimate supergroup would be all members of DM, NO, PSB, and vince and Andy, combined. of course, They'd all kill each other by the end of the first session, but it would be interesting to see who would stay alive the longest. My money would be on Andy.

It's unfortunate Stuart Price has produced for me, the 2 weakest tracks on WFTSC. His stuff with Les Rhythmes Digitales and especially Zoot Woman, is far and away the best modern New Orderesque material.
