Forget the annoying USA only digital bollocks of Guilt. I need Turn as a single. I sound desperate! :food:

 I require Turn as a single, as well!

I want a full cd of mixes of that.. I don't even know what exactly I want to hear in regards to mixes, I just know I can't get tired of that song, at all.

I go to sleep to it or Player in the League, actually.

edit: "I can't get tired of it... I go to sleep to it"... hahaha!

But, seriously, it's radio-friendly and rockin' material. Get a single out ASAP.

Oh yes!

Would be superb to get turn as a single! Just hope that warners/london are not that stupid enough that they dont realise just how successfull turn could be as a single.

Similar thing happen with factory recs,Wilson actually said that if the order released vanishing point (Without doubt the best track on technique for me) then he wouls step down as chairman of fac recs. Silly bastard! And we ended up with round + round, which is not a bad song but no where near as good as vanishing point!

Agreed Mick. It is an absolutely top track and could have been remixed into a 10 minute job in which you could have just been lost forever. Ah...

"My life ain't no holiday, I've been to the point of no return..."

Indeed. Vanishing Point was/is timeless. Still remember hearing Technique for the first time, on cassette in my Toyota Corolla back in 89. Perfect sequence on side 2 : Run, Mr disco and VP (Dream Attack seemed like such a weird closer - had more a opening tune thing going for it. Guilty Partner would have been a nice closer. The track had more of a somber, yet uplifting hopeful ending.

Then when I heard the Instrumental Making Out mix of VP, I knew then and there that the track had so much legs and should have been released as a single with an extended version to serenade us till a sweet somber engulfed us like flames in a fire. In fact I think the record label (London) did right by putting VP on the (best of) comps that came out in 94. It would have been up there with True Faith in terms of being a crossover 'hit' and possibly have widened New order's audience, thus enabling them to tour more had it actually been released as a single. Even an edit of the song would have it justice...

Is there an appreciation thread for Vanishing Point anywhere?

Oh yah, "Turn"... nice one.

re: Vanishing Point

I was driving around yesterday, and it came on (well, was expected, was listening to Technique for driving music on a frickin' TAPE ) and I sat there lost in a trance thinking of how wonderful it was craffted and how it should have been a bleedin' single.

I love r&r very much, but VP would have kicked it's pants off, IMHO.

I'm hoping to hear Turn for the first time live at the MEN Arena in January...because it's a beaut! If they played one of Dream Attack / VP / or All the Way as well I will be in dream land. MORE TECHNIQUE PLEASE THIS YEAR ON THE ROAD!

Seems like years ago now since some of us did a few polls for Turn to be released as a single. It could have made a great single but I would say the momentum has gone now...certainly if they don't release it before the gig in Jan. Radio1 wont play it which is a shame because it would surely appeal to the indie kids out there in to Bloc Party, Killers, Kaisers etc...

Well, if it's on 'Singles', surely it has to come out, doesn't it? At least in the UK.

Nevermind 'Turn', good as it is, when are we gonna get the new equivalent to Temptation or Blue Monday??

RE. TURN - Must be coming out as a single seeing as it is on "Singles" or maybe NO jiggery-pokery is at hand and they're taking the piss.

RE. R&R/VP - R&R is a classic. For many years it was my favourite track. As teenager full of angst and getting to grips with girls the lyrics were absolutely perfect. For me it represents probably the best set of lyrics from Barney, but then again they are very personable for me. Yes, VP is another classic, and yes it should have been released, but not at the expense of R&R.

RE. NEW REMIX - Do we really need another BM remix? Nowt wrong with the original, and 88 remix did itself justice(extra bite, few more added beeps and blips that they didn't have in 83, and condensed perfectly for radio). If any track should be remixed/redone it has to be LWTUA. Having watched them perform it at the UK Hall of Fame ceremony the other week, it suddenly dawned on me that a 2006 remake could really give it another angle. Maybe they will do it for the new film?

Either way, they need another single out in the New Year, and then it's time for the new album!...
