This might be old news to some but there's a pretty good cover of 'Age of Consent' by the Never Ending White Lights project. Vocals by Nick Hexum of 311. (A big NO fan)

Check it out at www.neverendingwhitelights.com

It's some where on that website.

Enjoy!

What do you think NO fans?

Ooooh, now that is a good one! :P

I'm almost embarassed to say that I like the ending best, even though it was a joke.

blinding sun-- very nice. works really well. very nice guitar work. i can tell you really worked at this, and the results are well worth your time. the warmth of the bass/synth line from the original is the best thing about it, and you managed to recreate it. lovely! you should be very proud of this.

y thanks, we tried hard to try capturing the energy of New Order's live performances of this song. Yes, the bass/synth line is the beam on which the whole song flows, we didn't use any synths but had bass and supercharged guitars playing frantically throughout the song attempting to recreate that... I personally like how Swifty turns it into a country song in the outro, turns the whole thing on it's head!

I have, and what a great version it is, especially the acoustic bit at the end, pity about the lyrics though... Oops :)

Thanks BufferLow, but what do you mean "pity about the lyrics"?

That I got a couple of words wrong? -sorry, it's probably my least fave NO song. :confused2:

Or am I just a ****y singer? lol

I mean Barney is a crap lyricst compared to Ian (nothing to do with you). Go to the "Barney"s Dubious Lyrical Talent" thread.

The last few minutes are outstanding. it's sounds kinda like the Jesus and Mary Chain doing AOC. Actually, I wouldn't mind hearing the whole song done that way.
