:eek3:

according to Clarín newspaper (24/12/05):

New Order´s bass player visits us

New Order´s bass player Peter Hook is comming on January 3rd to DJ on a boat in Punta del Este [Uruguay] on a Gancia [this is a local beverage] party. He´ll also sail with a number of famous people and will put music to the aquatic journey.

there´s no problem in going to Punta del Este, it´s quite near Buenos Aires. the problem would be to get into the party as it is made for VIPs only! how come nobody is taking him to play here or in Brazil? so much to do and so little time.....

This sailing thing sounds more like Barney...

well, it is now confirmed. he´ll be spinning on that boat party on Jan3. now i´m still wondering how come argies nor brazilians saw this opportunity to make him spin in our countries?

FYI Punta del Este is THE hippest beach of the south. all the high society of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and even south brazilians use to get there every year to spend their fortunes. so why the exclusiveness of this party on a boat!

if i manage to get there i´ll post a review. after all for me going to Punta is like for any english going to Scotland...

Almanso, as I undesrtand, the authorities and elite of Uruguay like New Order? Correct me if I'm wrong, otherwise I don't see a point for Hooky to go all the way just for one night and play for rich and famous bums.

well, rich people have money and they used it to bring Hooky to DJ. as simple as that. an argie beverage is promoting the event and there will be mostly argies there (rich and famous that is) on that boat. uruguayan authorities don´t have anything to do with this. it was this company (Gancia) that put all together for the event. i´m sure Hooky´s name came up because someone knew about him and likes New Order. but it´s not like if i´m getting married and hire Elton John to sing at it, isn´t it?

btw, it seems Hooky is spinning on Jan6 and not 3rd as i mentioned before.

Of course it was a joke,a bad joke!

Unfortunately the falklands and gibraltar are the last bastians of the british empire, and there aint no way we will ever give them up.

Yes we may have fought wars over our impirial colonies and we have given some back, but do you honestly think that these islands were ever Argentinian? Its like me saying because english people were the first non native settlers in america then we should claim america as our own?

As if that will happen!

I know that he falklands/malvinas are a "touchy" subject for you alamanso so i'll leave it at that!

They're still ours tho!
