I just got a call from the UK (at least the guy had a british accent) that was from a record company.

Apparently they had a deal with Warner and are about to reissue several 12" by New Order.

Not sure I got it right, but he's supposed to email me the details, so details to follow soon.

If the reissue is on vinyl then they are...... fucking idiots.

On the other hand if it's a PSB-like reissue campaign with reasonably priced two disc remastered editions of each album then they are on the right track. I have no faith in Warners or London after the way they screwed up WFTSC (single) and Guilt, I am almost positive they will screw up this opportunity as well.

They've got to wonder who the hell would want a reissued Blue Monday or Confusion on vinyl? Especially since you can pick up good condition copies of the Factory originals on eBay for pennies these days.

I hope they won't justify it by saying "Seven inch records are very fashionable with DJs these days!" New Order's fanbase aren't all DJs last time I checked.

Apart from a few unreleased things buried amongst the tracks there, the whole thing is fucking pointless. Like Warner pretty much are in fact.

I'm sort of at a loss for words.

edit: on second thought, an emoticon or three does say it all for me.

Relax people, this company was selected by Warner & New Order's management to do those on 12", this doesn't mean these won't

a) be released on CD b) won't be the Turn B-sides

Wait and see... I know some of you are still pissed by the exclusive 3x7" release of WFTSC, but let's wait and see.. ;)

Well for those of us who still own record players I think this can only be good news (and Cd people may yet be happy). At least we can own a copy of the elusive Planet Funk mix of WFTSC, and where did the filterhedz mix come from? I'm excited:nod: True Faith , king Roc mix, how did I miss out? Regret Tocadisco mix, I wanna hear it!, EGG Dave Clark mix; yes please. And for people (esp DJ's) who somehow missed out on the Pump Panel reconstruction of Confusion (which is v good) or Coomb's mix of Crystal, it's more good news. I can't wait. A few days ago some people were moaning about Turn being released, now negative comments on these. Jeez! you lot are as miserable as Smiths fans! (oh just remembered, I am a Smiths fan,... unlike a certain bass god).

No I know nothing more.. I have HOPE.. ;)

Hmm, maybe "I Told You So (Stuart Price Remix)" will feature on the "Turn" single?

Ah, just re-read the mail - nser001-nser006 have already been released on the label! :)

Only about 5 of those look really useful:

NSER 007 NSER 010 NSER 011 NSER 016 NSER 019

Perhaps the 9-minute Steve 'Silk' Hurley mix is a rare full-length mix? I thought it was about 6-minutes or so.

I think the idea of doing re-issues on vinyl is an excellent idea but the way these tracks are paired together, it really sucks.

I know all the CD fanatics out there want their remastered 2xCD albums but the DJs and remix fans amongst us, we NEED these on vinyl.

The tracklistings are just silly though.

Oh, and btw, New State Recordings also tend to release CD's of their releases - see here for more details.

The question is (apart from a deal, as Nic's already mentioned) as to why a label who's major artist is "Señor Coconut And His Orchestra" would want to release New Order stuff! :p

Warners and New State probably figured out the best way to cash in on the band's legacy now is to provide turntablists a new edition of songs from the canon to spin and beatmix. Makes sense, though it seems that the 'ardcore fans don't appreciate (and I can't blame them really) that NO's primary action these days seems to be geared towards the dance charts, especially in the USA, and that there's lots of lucre to be gained by DJs buying the whole lot on import for $100+ a pop.

Carri on...

I like vinyl releases, cos I've still got my first turntable (and a few others) in top working order. :p (Not to mention a rather large record collection that topples my cd collection)

My problem is that.. I don't sit down to listen to a remix, which is what I normally do with my records at home. I'd prefer these (and some I do have on cd, albiet in horrible formats) on cd mainly for the portability of where I'd listen to a remix at - on the go in the car, out doing things, at someone's house for a party.

I'd also like for some more interesting things to be remixed, too, I suppose. I stopped collecting BM mixes a while ago for this reason.

Annoying that it's not much new for me to hear, and also sorta nice that maybe some more people down the line might get to hear them. I'd rather the band be more known for their actual sound rather than a remix that almost takes them out of the equation, though.

Actually their website is http://www.newstate.co.uk and they have a new "compilation" label which has a Oakenfold CD...

Don't know them much, but they must want this to work, as they CALLED me...

Their list of client is:

Virgin/EMI Records, Hed Kandi, Godskitchen, Distinctive, Sony Music, Warner Music, BMG, Universal, Telstar, Skint, MTV, BBC, Carlton, SKY, Channel 4/Channel 4 films, U2, Oxide and Neutrino, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Queen- We Will Rock You, Cream, Gatecrasher, Café Mambo, Pacha, Paul Smith, Swatch and many more.

I'm with Debaser on this one. Pixies rule. I used to work at a record label and having sound knowledge of how these vinyl one-shots work, it is cashcow. But why does sellout or cashcow always have to equate with a negative connotation? Many people probably missed out the initial pressings (for whatever reason) and this could be seen as a plight to get New Order back in the clubs on a larger scale. Would love to hear the Filterheadz mix and I know for a fact that a lot of people will probably be scouring their online vinyl pushers for these releases. Wonder what the artwork will be like and the vinyl quality... Besides, more and more international high profile progressive dj's are putting these retro tracks back in their set. I remember Digweed canning the Hardfloor mix of Blue Monday one summer...

plus, this is more of a for dj-release.

I'm with Mike (again), What they need to do is release every godamn live video and there are heaps of it (especially the Barcelona 84 effort) and then a monthly release of live audio material. That might keep the old bastards (of which I am one) happy.

.... boy, people are never happy:baby: they say either the record company ignores New Order, or tries to make crass profit from New order. too much, or too little, and remixes always seem to offend somebody... whatever :\ohwell:

first... neither Warner or the band would make much if any money off of these vinyl, this is hardly a profit venture... maybe just investing in building interest in New order

this seems like it is just for fun... collectors and DJs who fancy something different. no one is forcing you to collect them all.

I see this as a pure collector issue (in fact mostly reissue)

The artwork was said to me to be "Saville - based on recent B/O aw" for whatever that means, and that "Its all with Hookys oversight & the bands blessing".

I think it's Hooky needing 12" to DJ ;) nah seriously, this is a gift of some kind.

For the exclusive tracks, I have a feeling they will be on the Turn single, so just wait.... both seems to be released around the same time anyways.

Spotnick wrote: For the exclusive tracks, I have a feeling they will be on the Turn single, so just wait.... both seems to be released around the same time anyways.

Exclusive tracks?

There's too many of them to feature on the Turn single(s), surely?

What irks me most about all this is that if they don't get a CD release, the usual suspects are going to be fleecing promos on eBay for kings' ransoms.

Surely some sort of deal can be made to press a small run of CDs for NOOL and the fanbase? Pre-sell only, they'd be guaranteed a minimum of sales to make it viable?

Jeez, I'd buy all 12 vinyl 12"s AND any CD compilations of the mixes and I'm sure others would too.

:\pimp3:

I think it's possible Warner UK licensed these tracks to New State for vinyl-only releases and will keep these for a potential CD release themselves. I wonder what the terms of licensing are (how many over what period of time)? Also, were these mixes recently commissioned or have they been sitting around waiting to be used from past projects?

There is actually a valid critisism here regarding Warners (or someone in New Order's camp) ongoing obsession with ignoring Compact Disc as the choice medium to release these sorts of tracks on. Once again some potentially great mixes are confined to vinyl; a shitty, outdated and inconvenient medium. It was deeply irritating regarding WFSTC (Single) to see all the Promo CD-Rs which so easily could've been released instead of 3x7" going for such exorbitant amounts on eBay :nonono:

Nostalgic record player owners will cry "Vinyl has better sound quality than CD!" but I personally would rather play my music on a medium that doesn't require extensive cleaning to avoid crackles and degrades slightly with each play. I would also like to be able to easily play it through my computer and perhaps put on an iPod. Last time I checked, Plextor weren't making 12"RW drives

I'm looking forward to this.

It would be nice to hear some Morning, Night and Day mixes, but some should be worth buying. I recommend putting a deposit for a record vinyl needle at the major record shops to check them out.

I agree that it is annoying (hey, i like to play CDs loud in my car, cant beat the convience) and i don't even have my turntable even set up currently, but there isn't all that big a market for the remixes with the over 30 crowd. I've read many, many times on this site people complaining about how the house remixes are stupid and why do they bother putting them out, kind of an ignorant stance IMO but I'm sure the record company have noticed this attitude and are trying for the coolness factor with DJs and collectors who appreciate vinyl.

Well, the hunt is on for somewhere we can buy these nice and cheaply. Some vinyl 12"s aimed at DJs can go on sale for £7+, if that's the case with these, count me out - I have an overdraft to pay off after Xmas and can't weigh it down more heavily!

That's one thing London/Warners need to be aware of - although New Order have a loyal fan base of completists, that fanbase is getting older, and things like rent/mortgages/family is becoming more of priority than track down expensive vinyl-only releases featuring mixes we already have, and a few mixes that may well be pants (otherwise, why didn't they come out on CD until now?).

If someone can find somewhere all these 12"s can be ordering in bulk for a good price... Keep an eye open lads and lasses!

That new True Faith mix is actually at 1hr, 27 minutes into the web stream of Pete Tong's Radio 1 show at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio1_aod.shtml?radio1/essselection. I note it says 'London Records' in the tracklisting for the show... Maybe it is due out with 'Turn'? Not a bad mix, as a dance track - doesn't feature much in the way of vocals, however.

Hey Spotters, how come I can no longer delete posts when I click a wrong button (i.e. above)? I just get 'access denied' in plain text on a white page now, despite being logged in!

are these 12" being released as a set of 12 (like a bundle?) or are they gonna be 12 separate singles...because that'll be more of a pain to get hold of - I know a 12 x 12" set will cost a bomb, but buying 12 singles, which, some will be more popular in general, it is likely to be harder to track them all down....

and how's the artwork gonna look, considering these are not rerelease, will there be new art or just plain die cut disco bags??

questions questions...i know people will miss out, but first things first details ;)

on a kind of side issue...perhaps these 'unreleased' mixes might see their way on to a legal download site...at least we saw the Pete Heller mixes that way...

they must have been recorded digitally, and as such won't just exist on vinyl, so i'd expect to see some digital / cd quality versions somewhere...

...unless they are released on CD as well... although if they do that why not do a whole remix album....

Most bizarre...

I managed to read a reply I got yesterday when the guy from the label read this thread, that was before my computer crashed, so I couldn't post it here.

So here you go:

Everyone should calm down! all will become clear soon... taken everyones point on CD & digital format. pls understand one thing just getting this done on vinyl is a major achievement considering NO being on a major label.

There are HUGE & complicated rights issues here... but we are working on that ... Ill keep u informed if anything changes

Watch out for a microsite launching at www.neworder.mu (not yet - soon)

Warners just don't do vinyl anymore so we can ease in there for a start

Will pass on the Turn comments to the relevant (you know who) people...

am i the only one around here who thinks that being a new order fan, that owning a record player should be a prerequiste for collecting thier stuff??

after all most of their stuff was originally released on vinyl, they began in an age that had only Vinyl and (cassette tape) - no cd no mp3...

i know things have moved on a bit, and we are in a'digital' age, and i personally like to have things on CD now, but complaining that you don't have a 'machine' to play these releases on is a bit lame, new order have and i think, will always relase some stuff on vinyl and as such as fans we should have the means to play it...if not then tough luck...i bet hooky, barney and steve still have loads of vinyl and machines to play these releases ;)

sorry to be the bearer of this news, but no one has yet said vinyl is dead and to get rid of your vinyl player...when that happnes then fair enough, but until thenif you don;t own a record player its not New Order's (or the record company's) fault

I remember a time...back in the late 90's...when I wondered if I'd ever get to hear new NO tracks again.

I'm thankful that we've got new albums...and new remixes (yeah some of them do suck but so what....some (richard X remix of TF) are brilliant.

I'd rather new songs/tracks come out on 8 track tape rather than never have them at all.

I'm not a huge fan of record labels...and they don't always make great decisions...but to the guy's point I do think that it makes sense to just relax a bit...obviously from Retro and other releases...they do take our input into consideration. Getting pissed at and flaming the record label probably doesn't accomplish a whole lot.

BTW I'm not saying that everyone above is flaming the record label but some of the posts do seem rather over the top IMO...

And yes I wasnt happy about no Guilt or WFTSC on CD as well. I'd much rather support the band by buying copies of a legitimate CD (as opposed to giving scalpers $ for promos or just getting copies from others)..

my 2 cents....ok go ahead and flame me now...

Being from the states, to say that obtaining the collection of singles at or near the opening day release has been trying to say the least. I ordered the UK version of Krafty over Amazon.com UK, as well as the UK edition of Jetstream with U-myx. Ordered all 3 7" Vinyls from some shop overseas (I cannot remember which.) And, only have the digital versions of GIAUE from I-tunes, and Dell MusicMatch.

Along with chasing down new DM releases this year as well, I have spent so much time hunting these bastards down. In looking back at 2005s releases, it seems as though the "thrill of the chase" has become more exciting proposition than having the releases in hand. I still have not seen any NO or DM singles in any shop that I have access to (Tampa and Pittsburgh markets, only on digital mediums.

All that being said, I would love to have an entire set of these 12 12" releases. (It would make a great B-day gift for me in March) But, I have grown tired of having to hunt down these things, and would actually like to enjoy the substance of these releases for a change. Any sense as to where these releases will be available, whether they are Vinyl, or CD releases? I know Spotty does a good job on keeping up with the updates! Please keep us loyal fans in the US posted on how we can purchase these gems!:thumb:

I don't get this. I really really really don't.

They make vinyl records when nobody buys vinyl anymore.

They make it an absolute and expensive trawl just to get new mixes of old songs.

Someone needs to sit them down and explain to them that CD's are the format on which MOST people buy MOST music. And if they want to sell records, they should sell CD's. Not vinyl. and not low quality 'DRM-protected' files.

Frankly, they should've made the initial run of "Singles" a 3 Disc set with a remix CD of all the stuff thats come out on obscure formats you can't get anywhere else, and actually sold proper physical CD singles for WFTSC, GIAUE, and Turn. And instead of sticking 7 remixes of "Krafty" over two CD's, varied it around a little to make it a less tedious listening process. I got very bored of listening to 7 generic-and-very-similar-remixes-in-a-row that was "Krafty" and "Jetstream".

You've prayed for it, dreamed about it and now it's here - the True Faith Remixes Boxset. 60 versions of True Faith spread over five cd's. Including the loadzadosh, imminted and wadsaplenty remixes. The first 20,000 have an extra disc with twelve further remixes. I love remixes, don't you?

i'm sorry but i have to disagree here..

vinyl sales were the only non digital format to increase in volume for the last year that figures were available....march 2004 - march 2005...(sales of singles in the UK)

downloads +747% cd singles -23% vinyl +87% other +10%

not sure what the 'other' format is but this data comes from the official charts company, and is reliable.

Warners, like a lot of companies, are only reacting to demand, vinyl sales have had a resurgence recently and bands like New Order, who championed the 7" & 12" single in the 1980's & 1990's should still be issuing stuff on this format, after all we all know what the biggest ever selling 12" of all time is, so i think its still right that New Order, of all bands continues to use this format...

".... as long as they stick them out on CD as well", is what you left off the end of that sentence. It doesn't matter if sales of vinyl have gone up, vinyl releases still sell miniscule amounts. Even if vinyl sales rise by 1,000% they'll still be much less than 10% of CD sales.

I tried to post this morning, but I had some trouble...

What I was going to say is that, even though I am a vinyl whore, I have to agree with Mark Reed. A lot of us still love vinyl and play it out (I own plenty of CDs but I don't DJ with them), but for the people that don't, they need a handy format. By not putting these out on CD Single, you're shutting out a lot of dedicated fans who are willing to pay money for this material.

I don't how luxurious the label's gonna get with these 12"s, if they're gonna put picture sleeves on them or do 180 gram vinyl but they ought to consider doing a run of CD Singles like the big trance labels do (Anjunabeats, Lost Language, etc) and make them available ONLY through the website. They don't have to be special, they can just have company sleeves and be issued in slipcases

But on a more important note, the tracklistings on some of these planned singles don't really do them justice. How can you pair up a new remix of 'I Told You So' (which hopefully has more f**king bass in it this time) with 'Dubvulture' and 'Shame of the Nation'?? How about pairing 'Thieves Like Us' with the worst remix of 'Jetstream'?? Songs from each era should be paired with other tracks from that same era. OR, if you were dating the tracks by when the REMIXES were done, please keep newer mixes together and the older mixes on other slabs of vinyl.

Instead of re-releasing mixes THAT HAVE ALREADY APPEARED ON VINYL AND CD, put on some older hard-to-find gems, like the Robert Racic remix of 'Paradise' or even the Sabres' Slow n' Low mix of 'Regret' (of which, my UK 12" was a HORRIBLE press) - or how about the Lionrock Fast n' Sparse mix of 'Nineteen 63'??

THESE are the mixes that will help sell these records, not boring retreads of stuff we already have. This whole idea is geared towards a niche market of New Order fans, mostly DJs and hard core fanatics.

One more thing, the label should know that it's not 'Subculture (Dubvulture Mix)' or State of the Nation (Shame of the Nation Mix)' - come on guys, we're expecting you to know the right names of the songs before you release them. Please be professional with them.

I applaud MTO, for explaining coherently what I could not.

If they were going to do 12x12"s, why not put them in a box and arrange every release chronologically and choose some of the mixes that are actually VERY obscure (The "Record Mirror" mix of "Subculture", "Evil Dust", the Salvation 12" mix of "Touched", "Confusion" DMC Mix, "Ruined In A Day" (ambient mix), any of the mixes of "World", "Spooky", "1963-95" etc.), as opposed to this haphazard, seemingly random selection?

Why not be a bit more careful with the mixes chosen? 4 of these tracks are either on 95's "Rest Of" or 02's "Retro". And since there is no (extended mix) of "Theives Like Us", we're looking at a track that's on Substance, The Best Of, Singles, and probably Retro as well. Just a little more thought about what the people who actually buy the records might want, and they'd sell more records.

The 12" singles are being released because of MONEY. We've had several compilations of the same stuff done for this reason, so why should this be any different? Are they coming as a box set - I doubt it because they wouldn't be able to get away with the £4/£5 charge per disc that they could charge with individual items.

Play your old vinyl or Substance/International/Greatest Hits/Retro. For God's sake, don't get conned into buying the same stuff AGAIN!!!!

oh God, "International", I forgot about that particular waste of paper and silver.

My whole take on this issue has always remained the same:

If you don't like it, then don't fucking well buy it. That way the record company suffer as the only way they'll probably listen and learn is if the fans voted with their feet by snubbing them. These 12"s sound like a waste of time - for the most part. It's the usual sort of hastily cobbled together exercise (without any real thought or care put into it) that everybody should patently well expect of Warners by now. Has it ever been any other way?

Sometimes I think of Factory as a marvelous label... Something of that 80's-anti-major-label-attitude must have been right...

I'm getting old.

I see the 12" singles are on HMV.co.uk at £5.99 each. Robbing devils...

Twelve releases too far, I'm afraid - and at that price it's an insult. My days of seeking one copy of every New Order track (preferably on CD) are officially over. Going to just stick to officially released singles and UK editions of the albums from now on - promos, US/Jap albums with exclusive tracks and DJ 12"s are all too expensive.

Simply can't afford to keep up with this kind of shafting any more - least of all for more listen-once then forget remixes.

Simply a casual buyer from now on.

Well, for me it was never a question of being in any "club" to begin with. I'm glad that there are still some sensible and prudent NO fans out there whose pulses don't automatically start racing and get sexxxed up whenever any bit of new product is thrust in front of their eyes, no matter how crummy and shoddy!

Their current discography is a mess. Ill thought out, and appallingly organised. 3 x 7", 12 x 12", umpteen CD singles (with different mixes in every country of issue).

I long for the days of the relatively simple Factory model of a 12", and maybe a 7", remix 12" or CD.

Incoherent, ill thought out, messy, sporadic, ad hoc. Urghhhhhh! What's happened to the beautiful simplicity of the band's concepts:cry:

Do they not have any artistic control over what is released?

Fair point. There have been FAR TOO FEW actual songs spread over FAR TOO MANY releases. I'll spend my hard-earned cash on other things and hope these WFTSC rejects get out this year as promised... Like fuck will they.

i'm not sure how many pressings of each single will be around, but i tend NOT to get them right when they come out...i've still been faithfully keeping up with most of the releases, even for the last 2 albums, but i get them much later at much cheaper prices, i'm sure these will be around, and the same thing will happen..

why be disgruntled now?

for me, i think things really started getting out of hand during the 'technique' era...and it hasn't gotten any better since...(or even earlier right around the 'true faith' single)...there were plenty of mixes that weren't that great even way back then.. and plenty of releases/formats also...[multiple singles/vinyl/cd/cassette]..

yes it is aggravating trying to hunt down a lot of this stuff, but sometimes the challenge is part of the fun...i'll admit i really don't like the last couple of albums or singles, but once in awhile there's a song or mix that's decent, and that makes it worthwhile....maybe i'm less of a completist collector, and don't need every single release, but i do try to get the unique tracks when i can...and if its affordable..

i really don't see much of a change in the pattern of releases lately, except for maybe more online and digital only ones..

someone mark this thread cuz in 5, maybe 10 years when new Order have retired and there aren't anymore singles coming out to fleeces the fans, i want people to look back and realize they're a bunch of whining cnuts. it's been stated before and it has to be stated again. you don't have to buy it if you don't want it! the tracks will be on soulseek less than a month after release. if that's not good enough, then buy the fukking record. we're lucky to be getting NO product at this point and there's no obligation to buy every release.

are these 12"s sold together or only seperately? if they were together with a nice box or something, i'd easily drop 100-200 bucks on it. if it's just collecting the seperate singles, i'll probably just get the ones with new mixes.

Can't we have a proper release of GIAUE instead / as well...?

It shits me because everyone accepts Shep Pettibone's remix of BLT as a regular old New Order song. But would you accept Fluke's rework of Spooky as a New Order song? Probably not, you purists - even though its better than the original.

Nowadays, the remixers of old are actually producing albums, I don't need to name names. If another new act like Tocadisco or Asle or Planet Funk or Richard X wants to add some new flavor to an old New Order track, it's the same as Shep doing it in '86.

The difference is y'all just got out of the club scene and don't recognize the new names. Would I drop the orignal Blue Monday in one of my sets? HELL NO. Why should I? Hardfloor's 95 remix beats it out by a mile. Same with True Faith, I'd rather drop Phillip Steir's 2001 mix because it's got a new groove with old school flavor. I'd drop the Morel dub mixes b4 I played the 87 remix.

That's the point of these re-works. Yeah, I know we all got burned in 95 by Arman van Helden's mix and there were a couple of bad ones here and there, but aren't there a couple of bad NO tracks on 'Get Ready'?

I mean, take the good with the bad. mysilentface was right when he said 'smell the roses while you can".

REMIXES RULE.

I've got no problem at all with remixes, but I don't really see an end to them being pumped out just because the band calls it a day.

Some of the hottest white labels in recent times have been the slew of new Led Zep remixes by Dirty Funker, etc.

Dude, I am still trying to get a copy of the remix of Nirvana's 'Lithium' by Dirty Funker but with so much material on my want list, it's hard to get everything.

Maybe one day when I am doing an audit on my Nirvana collection, I will try and get a copy on Ebay.

Ditto. What gives me pause for thought is realising that looking at the listings I couldn't remember for the life of me which mixes I already had without going and looking through my cds/records. I think when it gets to that point it's already gone too far.

As a new casual vinyl listener - I would be happy if 'singles' was realeased on vinyl then I could be happy. The best of they should have done would be substance-esque - All the singles and the bsides on vinyl and cd. That would be good. The odd collection of remixes is cool of djs and stuff - but what about us? Why have a new remix of an old song with a new remix of a new song?

Chronology, anyone?

don't you think that there is a mistake regarding the timing of Steve Hurley mix of Fine time (6.18 instead of 9.18)??

As far as I know the Jacques Lu Cont Dub has not been released (unless it's the regular remix mislabelled). All versions of Shellshock were remixed by John Robie, so this will be the regular Substance version we all know and love (i.e. the edited original 12", missing verse 3).

Not quite true, there was a US promo 3 track CDR doing the rounds (although it could be a bootleg?), with the following tracklisting:

  1. Jetstream (Jacques Lu Cont Dub)
  2. Jetstream (Pete Heller Dub #2)
  3. Jetstream (Pete Heller Bonus Dub)

Incidently, David (on his worldinmotion website) lists there being a track 4 on the CDR (Krafty - DJ Dan Dub) - it could exist on the above CDR, but I'll need to play it to find out, as it's certainly not listed on the CDR! :)

I am in America. Can I order these records from the HMV Website and get them shipped to America or am I better off going to that one US website posted a page or two back.

3 for 10 quid sounds better than $12 a piece, even after the conversion rate.

Or will my 12"s arrive all bent up like some people said with the WFTSC 3x7".

Comments, please.

At this rate it looks like i'm gonna have to make 11 more individual trips to the post office to pick each one up:( :(

I asked them to check if there was any more for me but there wasn't.

11 Trips to the fcukin post office:angry:

I recieved the one with BLT (Pettibone remix), True Faith (Pettibone remix), Round & Round (Saunderson remix) and Fine Time (Silk Hurely remix)

I also received just the one, with the Jetstream and Krafty mixes. Probably should look in an actual shop to see which I can get there and cancel the online orders. also annoyed at the fact that they are now three for 10 in store having spent £3.99 each on them online...

i ordered online so that i would get them today and wouldn't have to go into town...which had i known - could have done quite easily...

not surprised by HMV though...

Picked mine up from HMV in Watford today, got them to reserve the lot for me. All in the 3 for £10 deal so a good result all round for me  :D

Feel a bit snide not getting the other 6.The labels say 3 for £10,stuck over a label 2 for £10,so how long the offer's on for,I don't know. Without fear of repeating myself, without fear of repeating myself...Richard X Extended mix of BLT:bow: Also good is the Planet Funk mix of WFTSC

Recieved 9 more today but 1 was a duplicate so actually 8.

I have 9 altogther now though cause i got 1 yesterday

Waiting on 3.And they're the 3 with the most unreleased mixes on that i 've never heard:angry:

Actually the duplicate is actually a mispackage.because the receipt in it is for a different 12".

Confused? me too

Went into Peterborough today and bought the 11 I didn't have from HMV, then cancelled the outstanding order from HMV online. They had dozens of them, also the situation in Virgin. Currently playing the third disc, impressed so far - decent WFTSC mixes and the Koma & Bones mix of Confusion (which I love) is longer than the one I have on Retro.

jeez .well the only reason i ordered online is because there is no hmv or virgin store in my town.Bollocks

Walked into HMV in Portsmouth and got the lot. 40 bloody quid

great that some persons have the lot. can anyone give clues about the real timing on these 12" of : Thieves like us - 12" extended remix (6.25 or 6.52?) Fine Time (Steve Silk Hurley remix) (9.18 or 6.18?)

Is fianlly the Jetstream Jacques Lu Cont Dub unreleased or is it a mix already available on the Jetstream singles??

thanks a lot in advance !!

And the Riton mix sounds different to what i already have too:D

And the Confusion- Koma And Bones is longer than the mix i have on the cd single i think .Still not got through all of them

can you confirm the riton one and the glimmers ones are different to previous releases??

I wouldn't like to say ,el mobbo. The Riton remix sounds different to me from the mix i have from last year and the Glimmers is definetley not the one that was on the standard UK 12" of Krafty. But you'd be better off asking Alistair or someone like that

I haven't got my 12x12" yet, bloody snowed in here up in rural Scotland

If Johnny says it's different from the one on the UK 12" of Krafty then it's probably the 'alternate' Glimmers Dub which can be found on the black Krafty Promo CD (PRO15313). For some reason two versions of the Dub exist with the UK 12" Krafty containing a slightly longer and more distorted version.

You can still get the black Krafty Promo CD for a reasonable price on eBay :)

The Koma and Bones mix is the same length as the 12" version, but has Bernard's new vocal take (the 12" Koma and Bones mix featured the original vocals, for some reason - although the edited Koma and Bones on the CD single and Retro version both featured the new vocals!).

Fine Time (Silk Mix) is the regular 6 minute version from 1988.

Thieves is definitley not 6.52. I timed it last night at about 6mins 30sec. probably my record player was running about half a second (per minute) slow , so that would make it the 6.25 version. Not worth getting really (altho BLT Richard X on the other side is just about worth it.)

The pressing of the original Blue Monday 12" is very good - nice warm bottom end to it. They've naturally titled it wrong ("Original 1988 Version"???). Has the notorious missing intro beats back in place.

Okay, having listened to these 12"s, these are the ones that are previously unreleased:

Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Planet Funk Remix) Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Asle Dub) Confusion (Koma & Bones Remix) - Bernard's new vocal, rather than the old vocals that were on the 2002 12" Everything’s Gone Green (Dave Clarke Remix) - different to the 'Rest Of...' version Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Filterheadz Remix) Jetstream (Jacques Lu Cont Dub) True Faith (Kind Roc Remix) Regret (Tocadisco Remix) Regret (Tocadisco Dub) Bizarre Love Triangle (Richard X Extended Remix) I Told You So (Stuart Price’s Remix)

Cool. These are the commercially unreleased tracks.

Now, for the versions which are totally exclusive and hitherto exist on no known promos or CD-Rs...

On no-known promos or CD-Rs, that would be:

Everything’s Gone Green (Dave Clarke Remix) - different to the 'Rest Of...' version Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Filterheadz Remix)

:shades:

But for most people (who don't own the promos/CD-R's), Andy's list is the one to go by! :thumb:

thanks a lot, but was the Jetstream's version (phela vocal remix) already released? and is the Bizarre love triangle (richard x extended version) the same as the Future retro compilation's one?

Thanks for the answers !

Future Retro has the Richard X Extended mix on the vinyl release, and the equally excellent Crystal Method mix on the CD.

Phlea Vocal Remix of Jetstream was on the US CD and 12" of Jetstream (called the Phlea Dub, for some reason - it's the same mix).

If we're talking about what are the "new" mixes including ones previously only available on promo, then you can include the 'Glimmers Dub' of 'Krafty' too, which only appeared on the promo in this particular dub mix.

Thanks for the answers !

Well, the Phela Vocal Remix was released via UK iTunes - can't quite remember if the Vocal mix was released on the US 12"/CD single, although it's listed as the Dub mix?

As for the Future Retro question - I can't honestly say, as I didn't bother with the vinyl version, but I *presume* that they're the same?

The version of the 'Glimmers Dub' on these new 12"s has previoulsy been referred to as 'The Glimmers Alternative Dub Version' - i.e. the one on the CD promo.

2 more came in the post this morning which made a great start to saturday:D

Not too excited about the WFTSC mixes on first listen but will play them more.

And i'd never heard that Everything's Gone Green mix by Dave Clarke. Was it only available on the cassette version of Rest Of?

I can't listen to the Pump Panel mix of Confusion now without hearing that bloody track that sampled it a few years ago with the guy shouting "EVERYBODY IN THE PLACE,LONDON!!" :nonono:

But i'm really loving that Alternative Glimmers Dub of Krafty:nod:

i like the BLT Richard X mix and am even beginning to be swayed on some of the Jetstream mixes:eek3:

Well, I have really enjoyed going back over the old mixes, and hearing the new ones too. Like all the WFTSC remixes - very clever and very different, but all work really well. Don't like the 'Regret' mixes. In answer to your question:

The Dave Clarke mix was on the vinyl 'Rest Of' (as was the CJ Bolland 'Temptation'), but on this release, the Dave Clarke mix is different - slightly shorter and with what were backwards vocal samples the right way round in some cases.

Am I the only person that thinks the Pump Panel 'Confusion' is absolute tedium?? Have never liked it! There's a better mix of it on the flip of the original Pump Panel 12" release, with more of the proper vocals that was better anyway!

Nothing like the original - not bad as a stand alone track, but doesn't stay faithful to the original whatsoever.

Quite like the Planet Funk remix of WFTSC.

The thing is some of the records play at 33rpm on one side then you flip them over and they are 45rpm.Is that common with dance 12" ??.I dont buy a lot.

Well, I've just spent the day recording all my new vinyl into my PC from my Technics turntable, and boosting the volume, editing and clipping the WAV files with Sound Forge to get a very wonderful quality copy of all the new remixes featured on these releases burnt to CD. Have managed to get them all to a volume and sound quality you'd expect from a professionally mastered CD release, and have fitted all the exclusive new mixes on to one CD (the only thing missing is the 'Glimmers Alternate Dub' which is only on the 'Krafty' promo). Here is the track listing of what are some very, very good remixes:

1 Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Planet Funk Remix) 2 Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Asle Dub) 3 Confusion (Koma & Bones Remix) - Bernard's new vocal, rather than the old vocals that were on the 2002 12" 4 Everything’s Gone Green (Dave Clarke Remix) - different to the 'Rest Of...' version 5 Waiting For The Sirens’ Call (Filterheadz Remix) 6 Jetstream (Jacques Lu Cont Dub) 7 True Faith (King Roc Remix) 8 Regret (Tocadisco Remix) 9 Regret (Tocadisco Dub) 10 Bizarre Love Triangle (Richard X Extended Remix) 11 I Told You So (Stuart Price’s Remix) [77:56]

And a very good listen it makes too!

Used to have it on the RONO cassette, but it disappeared, and now the cassette and vinyl seem to be unavailable (except for silly money). I don't remember even liking it much but now it bugs me that I don't have it.

Well i think it's a shame they didn't include the Crystal Method mix of BLT on either the same 12" as the Richard X mix or another 12". The other tracks on the Richard X 12" are bog standard tunes that we all have already. This surely would have been a better deal for fans.

And has anyone noticed? Not one of the Guilt remixes has surfaced on these 12"'s. I was a bit surprised by that.

never mind HMV, to my mind no one can beat AMATO - they definitely have a new customer here.

Ordered 1st of March, despatched the same day, arrived here 6th of March, all complete, no cockups AND 15 quid cheaper than HMV !

got my final 2 x 12"'s from HMV online today, after over a week and a half of deliveries almost one each day....

what a carry on....

anyway, just a couple of complaints really,

white sleeves, they look very nice new, but are subject to every single little mark, even if you put them straight into protective sleeves, and most certainly more susceptable to ring wear...not the best colour choice, but they do look nice at this very moment - its gonna be hard keeping these in the same condition that they arrived in....

also the sleeve weight, so flimsy, three of mine have already split at the seems slighlty and the vinyl pops out the side...whats that about...?

and thirdly - what's with the cat. number system on these...

NSER 007 - NSER 019

were the numbers NSER 001-NSER 006 used for something else??

still glad i have these now...

Yup, sleeves are flimsy as fcuk and, as you say, susceptible to marks - took me quite a long time in HMV to find the least affected sleeves - very few of them had no markings at all...

Anyway, NSER 001-NSER 006 are previous New State Recording releases - notice they also missed out NSER 013 (obviously being superstitious)! :)
