I just got a call from the UK (at least the guy had a british accent) that was from a record company.
Apparently they had a deal with Warner and are about to reissue several 12" by New Order.
Not sure I got it right, but he's supposed to email me the details, so details to follow soon.
If the reissue is on vinyl then they are...... fucking idiots.
On the other hand if it's a PSB-like reissue campaign with reasonably priced two disc remastered editions of each album then they are on the right track. I have no faith in Warners or London after the way they screwed up WFTSC (single) and Guilt, I am almost positive they will screw up this opportunity as well.
They've got to wonder who the hell would want a reissued Blue Monday or Confusion on vinyl? Especially since you can pick up good condition copies of the Factory originals on eBay for pennies these days.
I hope they won't justify it by saying "Seven inch records are very fashionable with DJs these days!" New Order's fanbase aren't all DJs last time I checked.

Apart from a few unreleased things buried amongst the tracks there, the whole thing is fucking pointless. Like Warner pretty much are in fact.

Well for those of us who still own record players I think this can only be good news (and Cd people may yet be happy). At least we can own a copy of the elusive Planet Funk mix of WFTSC, and where did the filterhedz mix come from? I'm excited
True Faith , king Roc mix, how did I miss out? Regret Tocadisco mix, I wanna hear it!, EGG Dave Clark mix; yes please.
And for people (esp DJ's) who somehow missed out on the Pump Panel reconstruction of Confusion (which is v good) or Coomb's mix of Crystal, it's more good news.
I can't wait.
A few days ago some people were moaning about Turn being released, now negative comments on these. Jeez! you lot are as miserable as Smiths fans! (oh just remembered, I am a Smiths fan,... unlike a certain bass god).

Perhaps the 9-minute Steve 'Silk' Hurley mix is a rare full-length mix? I thought it was about 6-minutes or so.
I think the idea of doing re-issues on vinyl is an excellent idea but the way these tracks are paired together, it really sucks.
I know all the CD fanatics out there want their remastered 2xCD albums but the DJs and remix fans amongst us, we NEED these on vinyl.
The tracklistings are just silly though.
Warners and New State probably figured out the best way to cash in on the band's legacy now is to provide turntablists a new edition of songs from the canon to spin and beatmix. Makes sense, though it seems that the 'ardcore fans don't appreciate (and I can't blame them really) that NO's primary action these days seems to be geared towards the dance charts, especially in the USA, and that there's lots of lucre to be gained by DJs buying the whole lot on import for $100+ a pop.

I like vinyl releases, cos I've still got my first turntable (and a few others) in top working order. :p (Not to mention a rather large record collection that topples my cd collection)
My problem is that.. I don't sit down to listen to a remix, which is what I normally do with my records at home. I'd prefer these (and some I do have on cd, albiet in horrible formats) on cd mainly for the portability of where I'd listen to a remix at - on the go in the car, out doing things, at someone's house for a party.
I'd also like for some more interesting things to be remixed, too, I suppose. I stopped collecting BM mixes a while ago for this reason. 
Annoying that it's not much new for me to hear, and also sorta nice that maybe some more people down the line might get to hear them. I'd rather the band be more known for their actual sound rather than a remix that almost takes them out of the equation, though.

I'm with Debaser on this one. Pixies rule. I used to work at a record label and having sound knowledge of how these vinyl one-shots work, it is cashcow. But why does sellout or cashcow always have to equate with a negative connotation? Many people probably missed out the initial pressings (for whatever reason) and this could be seen as a plight to get New Order back in the clubs on a larger scale. Would love to hear the Filterheadz mix and I know for a fact that a lot of people will probably be scouring their online vinyl pushers for these releases. Wonder what the artwork will be like and the vinyl quality... Besides, more and more international high profile progressive dj's are putting these retro tracks back in their set. I remember Digweed canning the Hardfloor mix of Blue Monday one summer...

if you don't have a turntable... too bad. no really, this is something you should have gotten a long time ago, esp. since you've known about new order's release of 7"s and 12"s historically.
