just downloaded this from dimeadozen. Some interesting stuff. Emryonic versions of Hurt & Ultraviolence.

Although thank god they didnt go with the last track. Seems a drunk Jean Michel Jarre staggered into the studio. Either that or its a sample of a Parisian traffic jam.

Can do a few copies for anyone going to the manc aid pre-gig booze up.

This Japanese bootleg CD was released late last year, making shameless use of recordings that had previously been seeded on this very site - not to mention the parasitic use of photos pilfered from Philip Carly's site for the artwork. Here's two fingers in your face, thieves!

78 minutes, 502 MB FLAC (level 8/verify/align on sector boundaries)

* the very first New Order demo, recorded at Cabaret Voltaire's Western Works Studios in Sheffield, July 1980

  1. Ceremony 4:31
  2. Dreams Never End 3:32
  3. Homage 4:06
  4. Truth 5:13

* studio rehearsals from 1981-1984

  1. dialogue (811009) 1:57

  2. Hurt (811009) 1:09

  3. Hurt (811009) 9:52

  4. Hurt (811009) 6:37

  5. Unknown song (811009) 5:12

  6. Ultraviolence (very early version; 811009) 0:59

  7. Ultraviolence (very early version; 811009) 1:39

  8. Ecstacy (late '82) 0:40

  9. Ecstacy (late '82) 11:58

  10. Paradise (840902) 3:21

  11. This Time Of Night (840902) 0:49

  12. This Time Of Night (840902) 0:50

  13. Love Vigilantes (840902) 1:30

  14. Love Vigilantes (840902) 2:47

  15. Unknown song 11:54

Please note that these files are actually an improvement over the contents of the bootleg CD: I've cleaned up the intro to 'Truth' (track 4), so that it runs entirely smooth now

Raveane, I'll convert them to mp3 and have a go at emailing the tracks individually. It should work. just make sure you have about 40mb free in your mailbox!

Pete, drop me your email address and I'll send to you also.

BA, i have the western works demos but not the rest. i can't work with FLAC (too damn hard). any possibility for little christy here? :D

BA - why don't you use a file mailing site like www.yousendit.com for people not going to the gig, then you can send them the link & they can download them

won't clog up anyone's in boxes, saves you breaking it down to 10mb chunks (max for mail i believe) & ewasier all round.

What 3rd special forum? I don't see one! methinks there's something fishy going on here :) But then I'll bet you'll never see this cos it'll be moderated! paranoia!

The best program I've found for converting .Flac to .Wav and vice-versa is 'Switch'. Google it - it's a good 'un. It is also able to cope with other file types... :thumb:
