Erm, has he really joined the band?

Not really, I hear he's playing all the live dates with them while Gillian looks after her sprog (new baby). I think he'd be an excellent addition to the band, as I happen to like the Smashing Pumpkins. If we need a guitarist why aren't they approaching Johnny Marr.

much as i love the smiths/marr/electronic i reckon this would be a bad move....in liverpool it felt a bit weird watchin them with corgan (who, it must be said was ok and unassuming...i.e he didnt come on dressed like nosferatu and start wailing) but if marr joined them it would be like some mid eighties supergroup....not good. it would be altogether cooler if everything works out and gillian can return....if not they will get on just fine with that new lad phil on geet/keyboards...take it easy people
