He interviewed John Simm, who talked a bit about being Bernard, how much he admired him and his music and then proceeded to do a damn good impression of him.

Very much looking forward to the film :)

Shit.... wish i'd seen that. Is it repeated?

I saw it and it was a pretty damn good impression of him - i fear the film may have affected mr simm for life though as through the whole interview he was doing that stroking his face with 1 finger thing while leaning on his elbow that Barney does (i know what i mean i just don't know how to describe it!) Major i think there is some type of repeat/ definitely highlights of the whole week at the weekend on BBC choice. Doesn't Ralf Little play Hooky or did i imagine that? If it's true just why?!

Indeed, the impression sounded okay - a v.camp Manc. Interesting that Johnny V noted that John Simm was basically doing an impression of a person that no one in the audience knew sounded like anyways.

He does indeed play Hooky. Should be interesting..... I love John Simm (apart from the atrocity that is 'Human Traffic') but I was a bit doubtful about him as the choice to play Bernard. My initial thought was that he didn't have enough hair! Looks like my doubts have thankfully been proven wrong....

Cheeky Monkey, Yea he definatly was showing signs of Barney'esque mannerisms throughout the interview! glad someone else spotted that as well :D

Think the shows rounded up on BBCChoice over the wkd, check this wk's tv listings..

I'd like to see it again just to hear the quote he used of Barney for his impression!! (i was a bit pissed when i watched it as i'd just returned from the pub and i've already forgotten exactly what it was he said..doh!) seem to recall it was a typical enigmatic Barney style comment about not having a message for the world or summin..

Mmm I was in the same boat but i seem to remeber it being something like i don't want people to think i've got a message for the world, cos i haven't got a message for the world, i'm a very personal person....when i wake up in the morning i don't think i've got to give my message to the world, cos i don't have a message for the world and so forth!

Lifted straight from his interview on 'NewOrderStory'??

Kezzie, yeah i think he said that last night - it was difficult to get any stuff with the band actually talking and that was the one quote that had stuck in his mind! Definitely a Barney quote though - very random!
