A Wannabe Barney

All during work today, I had Close Range in my head and because of this I became unaware of my surroundings ... Thinking that nobody else was around I started singing 'Close Range' very loudly with all the Bernard whoops and shrieks, thinking that I would feel like a fool if anybody saw me ... After finishing the line, 'Youve got the world right in your hands' I turn around to find three company directors staring at me and standing only about two metres away with looks on their faces like they thought I was a freak... Talk about embarrasment ... I just casually smiled and walked away .. An hour later one of them came up to me and said that she would of prefered me to sing Regret ... So in my moment of embarrasment, it was comforting to know that she knew New Order ...

Anybody else ever been caught out belting out to a New Order song ...

I've been caught singing True Faith very loudly on a bus with headphones on.

Although why the bus was wearing headphones is anyone's guess....

Many times, fortunately I work with three other people who are also singing to themselves reguarly, so I have to put my NO tuppence in as well. The good thing about singing NO is you can't actually sound any worse than Barney

Did it at work today, and I didn't care what anybody thought of my singing. "True Faith" came on the 'oldies' lunch hour of the top 40 station that the secretaries listen to. Guess I didn't do too badly as they did NOT tell me to not give up my day job! :singer:

OK - Hands up - Guilty yer honour:lol: Not only do I whistle while I work (behave Sebsy!) I also sing along - as everyone probably knows - I play New Order at work every night (that's the only good thing about the back-shift) Get Ready and on the B-side Behind Closed Doors, Player in the League and the wonderful Steve Lamacq sessions.....and there's nothing that beats me singing the start to Slow Jam (espescially the bit that goes "pretty soon it will be tired") if anyone still doubts how good this song is...please listen to the Lamacq version....it kicks ass;)

I’ve been caught playing imaginary drums just like that “bear-man” from “60 Miles An Hour” video when I was driving (Am I a Steve wannabe?). I can’t remember the song but it was something from “Get Ready”. I was stopped and some people in a bus next to me start laughing. I felt really ashamed.

I used to do a radio programme on a local station. Of course New Order got played every day. Once, I was loudly singing to it and the technician (inadvertently, he has claimed ever since!) disconnected the minidisc and treated the whole city (or at least our puny audience) to my excellent rendition of REGRET.

Funnily enough, not a single listener complained (then again maybe I did not have a single listener!)
