Imagine my surprise to hear 'Ecstasy' during BBC2s the Culture show this evening. As part of their 'Design Quest' , the sleeve for PCL has been shortlisted as one of the most iconic designs since 1900 (alongside such classics as the mini, the miniskirt, sgt peppers sleeve etc etc). i voted for the Raleigh Chopper, coz i've got one, hangin on the wall.

and my chopper gives me more pleasure than PCL any day of the week.

CONSIDER IT DONE.THOUGH I HAVE TO AGREE THAT MY CHOPPER AND SEEING GIRLS IN MINI SKIRTS HAVE GIVEN FAR MORE PLEASURE.

Voted PC&L partly out of a sense of duty, but agree that there are some other classics there - I've always had a soft spot for the London Underground map - so recognisable and yet simple...

Yeah I admit I almost voted for a few of the other options(including the Aston Martin DB5 and the London Underground map). I also have a copy of the Sgt. Pepper album I once bought from an op shop for about $1 which has the original gatefold sleeve and the cardboard cutouts(still intact) that were contained in the other part of the gatefold which didn't hold the album. By anyone's standards, still a nice bit of art today.
