Fac Off. We caught you dancing to this at the Apollo last year. All this slagging you give it is a front.

The thing I always wonder is.......

You lot (and I mean really the hardest of the honoured hardcore)...have sung these songs MORe often than NO by some large margin...you are also graced with a rather healthy monitoring system (what 30KW? 50? for MEN)...yet STILl you manage to screech and howl in a fashion that makes The Barnster seem like a classically trained vocal Divo.

Might I suggest next time you see Mike in your proxymity, you shove a finger in your ear to at least give those among you who CAN carry a tune in a bucket a chance to get in key. (it works....folk singers don;t do it cos they are pricks....them stickin their fingers in their ears and them being pricks are unrelated phenomena)

I realise I'm leaving myself open to fucking DOG'S abuse when I post my community 2 entries :D

(actually, I love hearing the singing along at NO gigs....especially when the audience ignore the words and join in with Hooky)

Have just listened to this for the first time and what an excellent effort by the band, really brought home just how powerfull Joy Division live were. Nice reserved vocals from Barney for a change:bow: .

Thanks Mike:clap:

Mike...I have the Brixton CD....now don't even TRY to defend the Viking male-voice-choir.

:D Actually 24hours is one of the better viking performances I've heard lately. Another track from MEN found it's way to me and the off stage vocals were, to be honest...really scary :D

The finger in ear to stay in tune approach is only one possible method....... You could also try mounting a brush shaft accross your shoulder blades and spinning round every time you hear the ambient nutter-level get too high.

HARSH yer ARSE, the day I make a truly mean and meant comment on those who dare to visit the frontline of every gig, or those who risk live limb and expensive kit to bring a little of it to those of us less courageous....is the day I go buy some BSP tunes.

Of all the JD songs they now perform 24 Hours is up there with Transmission as the ones they pull off the best with Bernard's vocals.

My top three as performed by No have to be:

1 - Transmission 2 - 24 Hours 3 - Isolation (just a shame it hasn't been aired for a couple of years)

I'f I'm feeling a bit pissed off at work, I put on Mike's Brixton recording. I'm not ashamed to admit that the sound of everyone DER DER DERRING along with Hooky has been known to bring a tear to my eye.

I want a track with particularly awful drunken-audience-bass played at my funeral, right before they set fire to me and bung me in the North Sea.

Either that, or the real Hooky can play and Nick King can der der over him, for he is surely the master of the art.

Oops, I didn't just type that did I? I meant to just think it.

Luckily I wasn't anywhere near the mosh pit this time around, otherwise you'd have heard all the "CAAAAMMMM OOONNNN!" shouts in the recording - much to the amusement of those around me!

Bloody 'ell !

Did it vapourise the original occupant , is that steam or 21 grams of ghostly prescence rising from the collar ?

DigiMike as your new roadie de Hawaiin / groupie selector , I insist you acclimatise to this shirt , rub a little chilli sauce on the collar of your workshirts for a week , if Mrs Digi sez owt , tell her it's a fertility ritual and she'll reap the rewards .:smoking:

LOL....So it was YOU heckling at Glasto in 81 then pal?

Didn't barney actually say something like "relax, fookin hawkwind will be on in a minute"?

Old 'Wind good New 'Wind gay. any hawkwind track that doesn't go fruntumpfruntumpfruntrump repeatedly..OR feature that nut spouting nonsense into a reverb so vast it makes straight (in the drug sense) people's head go boom....is just wrong.

Nick....Excellnt Badge sir....but you mispelled Peter Hook. :D

Well i was there and did see both Nu Ordah and Hawkwind.

Remember Barney and Hookey in Suits and Hawkwind were shite.

Best bit of the weekend was Tim Blake playing with a lazer light show - honest

It's a pretty standard mp3, but quicktime never starts automatically, you usually have to press play on it.

You can also hear it on the latest NewOrderOnline Radio podcast if you're into this type of things.
