Got a brand new turntable from a mate.
Fcuk have I missed playing records.
Ceremony, Subculture Record Mirror and Don't Do It were the first three singles played this evening. The walls were rocking.
I will have a play around with some albums the morra.
I'm as happy as a Garymac in a free bar at a free gig after a free taxi :D
EDIT : Nearly forgot, managed to play the WFTSC singles as well, so they weren't a complete waste of money 
It's really funny how I managed to hold onto my record player throughout my childhood til now, but I've gone through 5 cdplayers from 1995 onwards. Nothing like Solid State technology. It's even got an 8-track. I've only got an Issac Hayes tape for that, but it works beautifully!
(And everyone winds up giving me their old players, so I've got a stack of four of them, now. )
Congrats on getting to hear some old favorites in their proper condition again. :)
i've managed to live without a decent turntable for more than 10 years. i don't need one, as i have just about everything in digital. i know it ain't the same. for emergencies, like when i need to remind myself just how bad the 12# remix arthur baker did of dancing in the dark, i have a crappy one in our old 3 in one stereo.

Sometimes I wonder if they make CD players to self destruct by 5 years... or maybe it is just modern Sony stuff. All the Sony stuff I've had seems to have failing circuits after about 4 to 5 years... sort of a plan to get you to buy new stuff every 5 years
We finally got ours working the other day - so I went out to buy some records. Substance was gone. I was ticked off. I plan to divulge in some vinyl singles I spotted but I really wanted to hear Ceremony and EGG on vinyl - many more hours ahead of sifting though old record stores methinks.
Does anyone konw if I have a chance of getting PFD i9n Hong Kong?

my sony cd muti-changer is still going strong after almost 10 years. you may be right on the newer sony stuff. a friend of mine had two picture tubes replaced for one of their exxy tellys inside the warranty period. sort of put me off buying their stuff. actually these days i find myself buying el-cheapo non-brand stuff. i figure, if it all comes out of the "same" factory in china, what's the diff.

I am gonna have to work out how to transfer from vinyl to mp3, I have loads of stuff I've not been able to find on the net, I have a copy of the Facus 8 CD - but I'd love to have my own 12" burned to CD and my dad gave me a couple of Faces albums which I've never been able to find on CD, so that's just a couple of examples!
Gotta say, the sound from the actual neworder records sounds better than the "Singles" CD. Or maybe it's just cos I prefer vinyl?

The handle should always to be the right, unlike politics which should always be on the left hand side.
Our wee cheetie cat would be put out if we got a dog. Jack Russel's are the Depish of the dog world anyway.

I am currently trundling through a project of putting all my vinyl into digital formats. I use software called Soundforge. It's gonna take for ever though.
New order 12"'s are the only reason I still have a turntable, canna beat them.

New Order vinyl is to die for - the artwork is 12" big!! A good quality turntable hooked up through a good system will always sound better than CD. Ive got a Pro-Ject debut expression 1, running through a Sherwood amp with mordaunt short speakers. Even compared to the Cambridge audio CD player Ive got the sound through the turntable seems warmer and more real.
I have had 2 (black) 1210s for years, I wouldn't use anything else, except these...

I used to have two turntables: Hitachi and Sanyo and technically I still have them but not with me.
I'm thinkning to buy a turntable soon to play solely the upcoming NO 12"s. In that case I'll buy the WFTSC 7"s, too.
You will be able to play that copy of confusion 2002 that some kind chap gave you!

Indeed I received me Electronic CD back last week, completely forgot about it as I have been busy as feck with the DVD project. Many thanks again for the Chicken Korma 12", that will get it's debut tonight, Baldrick is coming down tonight with some Technics speakers (hopefully) then the house will well and truly be rocking.
