turn- shite lyrics, rem sounding. They could write that song in their slumber. giveme loveless, all the way, dream attack, guilty partner to me before turn any day. Same vein as turn, and a lot less slick.
new order's most overrated moment

over-rated?
"Love Will Tear Us Apart". (Though that's by a band that split up years ago).
"Blue Monday". (Not a fucking patch on "Perfect Kiss")
'Perfect Kiss' - not a patch on BM imho
Obvoiusly I mean the album/7" TPK, the outro of the 12" rocks!
The BLT 12". Cack and virtually unknown in its country of origin but seemingly loved everywhere else in the world.
Touched video. It weren't that funny.
Atmosphere and LWTUA. Lost their shine now having been done to death. And, please, anyone who sheds a tear for these at gigs ... GET A FCUKING LIFE! ![]()
Actually, Joy Division full-stop really. Brilliant band, great tunes, but they're not the fcuking Doors which is virtually how they're marketed these days. Ian was just a mixed-up kid who took the wrong route, there's no meaning or majesty to his death and he did not die for us.
True Faith. Nice enough track in fairness. But not quite sure it deserves the pedastel on which some people place it.
The hype surrounding Republic.
Reading 93. Seemingly bigged up by everyone who wasn't actually there simply because of Electronic Ecstasy. It weren't that special, at all.
Well I say Al nailed it with Joy Dision.
But totally disagree with True faith as that was the song that made me fall in love with New Order. And BLT 12' was the second song I herd, and confirmed my love.
I would say WIM and the Republic cd are the most overrated.
As for Turn. I love that song. One of the top two songs they ever made.
And as for Temptation, I would have agreed before 2001, but after I herd the song live for the first time in person, I understand why they play it every gig. (Exept Cochella
) Best live song they have.
TURN, brother man.
WFTSC was better than Get Ready but please for fuxake, add some synths on the next LP.
The full WFTSC album apart from the title track and Krafty! But then again I have previous form with dislike to most New Order albums. I hated side two of lowlife for a good few years, same with side one of brotherhood, republic left me feeling WTF are they playing at now! get ready took me a few months to get used to. So no doubt I will grow used WFTSC, in the end :) I agree with Al, aswell, they should just leave the Joy Division stuff well alone, unless they're gonna let Hooky sing the tunes. Bernard just destroys 'em he can't even sing his own lyrics live so why let him getaway with destroying beautiful songs like Atmosphere and LWTUA.
1963 by a country mile. Totally disagree about the Joy Division tracks - we wouldn't have witnessed the brilliant 24 hours at Manc V Cancer or the tour de force of the apollo gig which was Warsaw (brilliant live).
Why cut off tracks from your back catalogue? The only thing I would say is not to play all JD sets- mix and match
The whole Krafty euphoria, such an average tune, yet there were like 20 Krafty topics on here at the time
The chorus let's Krafty down. The rest of it i like.
Yeah ,READING 93 was nowt special and the Hand Of God vid has never made me laugh.
Almost any New Order song has struck me as overrated at one point or another if i heard it when not really in the mood for it.Like i can listen to Turn one day and love it then the next time i find it over sentimental REM cack

EXACTLY. They've managed to cut off almost all their NO back catalogue recorded between 1980-2001, excepting the singles, "Your Silent Face", "Run Wild", and "Love Vigilantes". There's at least 50 songs they haven't played in the past few years, instead giving us their 100th rendition of "Love Will Tear Us COME ON!!!!! Apart YEAH!!!!!!!"
You'd think they are embarrased of "Movement", "Power Corruption & Lies", "Lowife", "Brotherhood", "Technique", "Republic", and "Get Ready", given how rarely they play songs that weren't hits off them recently.
world in crap motion
the only reason why it was even on the uk charts was because of the world cup
north america couldnt give a rat's ass about that song
probably 'the' lowest point of their career creatively speaking.
overrated moment - "world in motion"
i'm an american and i couldn't give a rat's ass about the song, its remixes and horrific looking video.
just thought of another overrated moment... NewOrderStory. Boring and too self-applauding w/ Tony Wilson's nonsensical commentary all over the place and whatever the heck her name's raspy-voice pretentious introduction.
i would have continued to love the band without this featurette.
World in Motion for me....tho in North America it did not do a thing...
NO Story is definately pretentious, but interesting...
and Tony Wilson? reminds me of my 10th Grade European history teacher from Bristol....
one of the most brilliant men I have ever met, but would say a brilliant point as to prove his brilliance...
BLT and True Faith - sick to the back teeth of them being wheeled out at every non-JD only gig for the last 500 years. Sheer laziness.
