Just wondering how they make the noise in this song? And any idea on Disorder's special effects at Bowden Vale?

The insight pinging effect is more than likely an electronic drum pad tuned up to a high frequency.

That siren on Disorder appeared at every performance of the song between early 79 and September, and I think it reappeared a couple of times in October 79. It was a siren!

You can also get that sound on an analogue synth by turning up the resonance on the VCF and adjusting the resonant frequency to the pitch you want.

Sounds like they've got some synth arpeggios going on as well, but I haven't the slightest idea which synth it would be. Can't tell from that LWTUA video either.
