okay who can shed some light about the trouser enthusiasts remix for 'love will tear us apart'?

is this an official release?

knowing what the trouser enthusiasts are known for, and having quite a bit of their stuff, i still cannot believe my ears.

it's just more DMC bollocks, getting rubbish remixes done by crappy non-entity producers.

At what point did this seem like a good idea?

shouldn't this be in the porn title thread at BCD?

It sounds like an interesting idea, but the Trouser Enthusiasts!? I liked their song "Sweet Release", though.

'Sweet Release' is awesome euro trance stuff. Most of their productions had that high-energy vibe that although seemed cheesy, wasn't pretentious or pretending to sound 'intelligient'. Their mixes for Pet Shop Boys ('Red Letter Day' and 'Discoteca') and Saint Etienne were great.

I guess my question is, I can see why these mixes weren't released commercially with the re-release of LWTUA, but why did they commission TE to do those mixes knowing the sound they carried out? Does anyone know if those mixes were done on spec? Incidentally, for those who havent heard the mix, TE still maintained the guitars during one of the breaks of the track, the staple keyboard riff and NO reverb nor the usual time-stretching of the vocals...

That remix was never finished actually.

That's what they told me when I asked them via email.

So it's a bootleg remix at the moment, but Mr "The Savior" did a good remix of it a few years ago.

great remix,i actually had this on vinyl before transferring to mp3,as for it's legality,it is classed as official, because dmc have to have permission from the band/record company before they can release anything

Oh good heavens, just what the world and their dogs all need then - a fucking trance remix of LWTUA......is this exercise aimed at the musically challenged hands in the air Creamfields posse then? God help us. :nonono:

Joy Division as a classic framework really does work amazingly tho. ahh.. such a clean structure that can stand most any DJ abuse. sounds great.
