Two versions with Ian? I thought the demo-take on Heart & Soul was the only one that surfaced during all the years.
And for the version with Barney: check out Substance or Retro...
Think the two you have are both Barney, one on the original Ceremony three piece and the other the 'remix' with Gillian. I think the only recording of Ian doing IALP is on Heart and Soul Disc 3 where they call it a 'detail' because only the first two verses are there.
There are three New Order versions of 'In A Lonely Place' - the two twelve inch versions (with extremely subtle differences in the mix, and thunderclap sound effects), and the seven inch - a fade out of the first twelve inch version.
Just the one Joy Division 'out-take' as far as I know.

thanks guys one of my ian versions is on a dodgy cd a friend gave me and is probably the same version as the joy division outtake but is shorter than the "official" i.e detail release.i am more joy division orientated than new order to be honest but will check out the version on substance
sorry new to all this internet malarkey but once again thanks to all who responded.joy division have been my favourite band for many years but it is only recently with the internet that i have been able to explore outside the factory released material and as i cant afford the box set need advice to authenticate tracks from "disreputable"sources if you know what i mean! nice to know that other people are interested enough to answer my question
Well, I make it that there are 148 "officially" released (i.e. not bootleg) Joy Division tracks - all of which are available on CD, apart from the live version of Twenty Four Hours on the vinyl 'Still'. Have a look at the list of my Joy Division tracks here: http://www.andrewmorrison.co.uk/tno/JoyDivisionTracks.html.
You may also like to visit Joy Division Centralwhich also lists bootlegs, and had loads of info on the stuff that's been released.
