I have to admit that I am a bit dumbfounded by this 12" reissue campaign!
When "Retro" came out, the band stated that the original Gretton conceived "Recycle" project (all the CD singles in a box - Depeche Mode style) was too ambitious and expensive and that it wouldn't sell. Now they go and do this?
I still don't have various Factory issued vinyl-only remixes on CD (the proper Run2, MTO, Shellshock extended, The Perfect Pit, etc.)!!
Yup, I'm putting my money on an album reissue campaign within the next two years - i.e. an extra CD with rare tracks/mixes on them...
I know that if I were Warners, that's what I'd do! :p

That's actually what my bet is as well, considering that their contemporaries from the 80s (Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, DM, etc.) are all going that route. But I still wish they'd rethink doing "Recycle." Hell, I could draft the tracklisting for them!
I already did, some years ago - trouble is, there'd be multiple mixes/edits of the same stuff, so perhaps some demos/unreleased stuff could be thrown in too:

Is it just me, or is this fantasy compilation a little bit like New Order porn? What i wouldn't do to get digital versions of most of those vinyl-only tracks... sigh.
that list of stuff is NO porn, no doubt. i dont think it would happen, i mean the Movement deluxe would not sell half as much as say, a deluxe 3CD Substance, it just wouldnt be cost effective but much stranger things have happened...

I'd be all over a "Movement Plus". Encapsulates their early material quite nicely, even if most of it is easier to find on CD than the stuff that would accompany the other deluxe album re-releases.

Why do a 3CD Substance? It already has B-sides and remixes on disc 2! If all the Factory Studio albums got a re-release, the related B-sides (and in-between-album singles) could all be collected on the second disc anyway.

It was London records that put the kibosh on it - Saville had taken the design quite a long way down the road when they did their sums, turned around, and worked out that the financial returns weren't worth it.
