Going through my New Order collection tonight, I just realized that I do not have a copy of Run 2. All my imports that claim to have it, just have the traditional Run version. I must have had it on a mix tape or something. Is the real Run 2 available on any cd release? Thanks for your help experts

Not officially. You can, however, rip Run 2 from the Item DVD. As others have noted before, the version of Run on the video is indeed Run 2. You can get a program called DVD Audio Extractor Here!

there's also the 12" which actually sounds quite differnent from run, whereas the the 7" actually sounds very similar to the album version. try and track down bootlegs such as out of order or the 12", or soemone here may help you out.

A big thank you to everyone's help with Run 2. Now that I've thrown myself back into my New Order collection.

The 12' version is the classic which I do have on some random bootleg.

I just can't figure out why on two of their "Greatest Hits" they list Run 2, but it is just Run.

Is it because they don't want to pay John Denver, can't due to court restrictions, or some other reason?

i don't know that reason for that either. perhaps it got labeled Run2, because that was actually the single, whearas Run is the album version, and the best of and singles were supposed to be a singles collections.

it was Run2 that had the issue with john denver and not Run. I don't know why its only Run2, as far as i can tell the offending melody is the same on both versions.
