This song is just absolutely brilliant!

I have been listening to Low Life a lot lately and this song seems to be on repeat a lot! I think that Low Life is creeping up on to being my favorite NO album!!!

What is everyone's favorite NO song this week????

Listened to Low-life yesterday and today, prompted by Major's song survey of Elegia. The first side of the album is just great (love vig.,PK, time of night, sunrise).

Elegia is great. I actually think it is one of the best songs for Hooky's bass.. That song just does it for me.. I can't begin to tell you what I think of when I listen to it! :p

I think that all of the songs are top notch but Sooner than you think and Face up don't really hit the sweet spot for me but the album still is a fav!

This week it is the Kiss of Death Vs Mr Disco. I feel like dancing this week and these 2 songs are guaranteed to get me moving!!!

I sang my little heart out this morning to BLT in the car much to the amusement of white van man on the M42. I've got one of those changer things that you can shuffle the CD's/ tracks so every time a new order song comes on that's my favourite - i'm too indecisive.

so for the morning it will be BLT (I am still singing it to the dismay of the muppets i work with - but i don't know whether it's the singing or the song that pisses them off) :(

This week's favourite song is Perfect Kiss. It was last week as well, and has been for approx 17 and a bit years.

My fav this week is Sunrise ... Closely followed by Perfect Kiss ...

On a scale of 1 - 10 in my own head i'm around an 8 but judging by how scared everone looks i'm suspecting it's more 0.8 but hey at least the man in the van couldn't hear me so looked suitably impressed! :happytongue:

:) i sing along to lots of things if i know the words...but since i'm not male and also am not a 70-something-year-old girl who's spent the majority of her life smoking and drinking, there are some notes Barney hits that i just can't without going up an octave...which doesn't sound right at all, so i try to avoid it whenever possible. ^^

favourite song for this week is probably "Face Up." more for the sheer GLEE in the line "...guess what i'm going to do to you!" and the whooping than anything. and the loping bassline. whee~~~! XD

"LowLife" is a great album - one of their best cos it captures the band at their "transitional" period and all the various elements of this are each captured perfectly on this one record: the instrumental mood piece (Elegia), the kick-in-the-eye rock-out (Sunrise), the first of many NO symphonies (Perfect Kiss), their sarky take on C&W (Love Vigilanties), their take on hi-NRG (ha ha!!) (SubCulture and the frankly hilarious slap-bass at the intro to Face Up which HAS to be the band having a dig at those BoysTown records at the time!!!), nervy orchestral angst (This Time Of Night), and blue-eyed pop (Sooner Than You Think).

Though Elegia is the weakest track here (due to appalling editing - second worst offender is TPK), this LP still stands up to repeated listening. I don't think I can say the same thing about their last two albums.

lonesome tonight, mostly because of the line "my eyes are made of stone." and i finally figured out how to play that weirdass guitar part during the verse (blummm blick... blick blick blummm blick... blick blick) also denial, procession, everythings gone green (WHOOP!)

temptation is quite fun to sing loudly and horribly while driving, freely mixing in lines from the taras shevchenko version (3 ways 4 ways any way you hit the floor, 3 ways 4 ways, ummm... hit the door, 3 ways 4 ways any way you hit the floor, its the last time... ITS THE LAST TIME OH ITS THE LAST TIME OH ITS THE LAST TIME)

This week, I'm addicted to Behind Closed Doors. Last week it was the Taras Shwhatever version of Temptation.

If the original person who posted this topic loves This Time Of Night, you should check out if you haven't already the live video they did in Japan and they play that track under the title "Pumped Full of Drugs"

I was addicted to that song for most of the eighties and its nice to see that some people still love it

This week it's been Turn the Heater On, from the second NO Peel Sessions. I just love New Order trying reggae, it sounds better than you might think. Also had a major jones this past week for the version of Temptation off the '84 live disc Muffy sent me back in January.
