Hi there Everyone, Well on the 6x12" pre-ordered via HMV, just received 2 this Wednesday ( 2 more are already on their way), which are the King Roc remix of True Faith + Regret... and 1 one of the ClassX (BLT./Round.../TF._ShepRx/FineTime.Silk Rx.) even tough a got the Factory originals (same old me...). But onto the subject, what do U think 'bout the new remix anyway. Dang, the King Roc remix is absolutely mind boggling, what a killer, and this time we got the full length Richard X 'BLT' remix, another gem. Planet Funk remix of Wftsc. is brilliant, and so is the filterheadz 1. What do you reckon ? Oh just one final note, the Steve 'Silk' Hurley of 'Fine Time' is no longer than the original remix it clocks at the same exact time as the Facd/Fac223 original. Best of regards to all and enjoy.

I received 3 of the 5 that I had ordered (from the US) on Wednesday- WFTSC (Planet Funk), SLY (James Holden), and Dubvulture/I Told You So/Shame of the Nation.
I have wanted the Planet Funk mix ever since I heard it on Pete Tong's show way back when. For as simple as it is, I think it is one of the best remixes that I have EVER heard, followed not far behind is the full length version of James Holden's Heavy Dub. I had not yet heard the nearly 10 minute version, but it is outstanding. I do not care for the mix of I Told You So, but the Dubvulture mix of Subculture is crazy, being in the states, I have never heard that one either.
I am awaiting my other 2 purchases - True Faith/Regret and the Filterheadz mix of WFTSC with EGG (Dave Clarke). I will probably order a couple more because for the US these will definately be collectors items, and the vinyl quality outstanding - heavy/thick!!

I havent heard a Neworder remix this bad since the aswad remix of Ruined in a day,or what ever it was.

Being someone that spends quite a bit of time mixing tracks, I really appreciate the vibe that Planet Funk brought to the table. This mix is simple, but I would have never thought to rework it in that manner. It captures a certain tone, that I cannot describe, a certain aura of hope. They left Barney's perfectly imperfect vocals intact and even brought them up front a bit, isolated against the backdrop of simple, yet effective synth loops in minor key.
Now you want to talk about bad mixes (IMO) - Howie B's mix of Age of Consent!

Although I still can't figure out some of the selections for these 12"'s so far so good. WFTSC 12" is by far the best not just because both mixes are great (esp. the planet funk which is probably the best track on these), but because this is about the only disk with complete exclusives on.
True faith remix is great - if you're one of the fans who don't insist on the remix having exactly the same structure as the original, but not sure about the regret mix, it might grow on me - but when you've got a great original track you gotta do something special with the remix - which is why I'm a bit disappointed with what stuart price has done with told you so. I was expecting it to be some kind of smooth dance track, but it just seems a bit lazy.
The one that throw me was the Glimmers dub of Krafty. I've not checked yet, but is that the same mix as on the original 12"? I just don't remember it being like that.
I did quite enjoy Dub Vulture, haven't played it in years. The end is still freaky - but I seem to remember that the substance cassette version was slightly different to the 12" (it was a bit shorter) anyone remember? If so which version is this?
I’ve bought six of these latest New order 12” vinyl remix singles, though I still don’t have a half-decent turntable to listen to them, let alone being able to record to CD via a PC. So I’ve only listened to the first three I bought on offer for £10.
The Richard X extended remix of Bizarre Love Triangle does the Shep Pettibone remix far more justice than his edited remix, released last year on 7” vinyl. I was not so much disappointed as unsurprised that many of the mixes weren’t that great, purely on the basis of a lack of musical talent these days rather than anything to do with New Order. And when I listened to the True Faith remix by King Roc, I was left thinking “great potential, but an opportunity half completed and half wasted”, due to either a lack of imagination or the belief it needed the extra chord phrases and direction.
But I am very much looking forward to hearing the James Holden mixes A.S.A.P.!

Where to start...King Roc version, very average. I guess I need to find those 2001 promo mixes that were released. And why would Tocadisco be asked to mix New Order, they suck! Who the F is Dave Clarke!?!? First he does a horrendous mix of Dream On for DM, and now this abombination of a mix? of EGG. His mix, LOL, makes Armand Van Helden's mix of BLT seem gracefully supurb! This was utterly horrible. However, I enjoyed the Filterheadz mix of WFTSC, but even then it seemed like a demo. It does not seem that much thought or time was put into creating most of these mixes, aside from Planet Funk.
