Perhaps i'm not as smart as the average bear but with all these 'the order are (maybe) going to play ....) i don't actually understand what is going on.

Finsbury park is understood, as is the euro trek! but what else is going - on which other festivals are the mighty order rumoured to be playing? At some point over the last couple of weeks i seem to have heard every one of them mentioned and now alas i am lost. I personally hope they don't do Glastonbury because then i won't feel compelled to go but what about reading and t in the park and so on?

This is how i feel :o :moose:

Four definites so far, Finsbury (9 June), Hultsfred Sweden(13-15 June), Southside Germany (22 June) and Hurricane Germany (23 June).

Arthur Baker mentioned a Spanish date, and there are rumours of a French one as well. Nothing else over here just yet......

Doubt they'll do Reading/Leeds or T in the Park cos they're all MeanFiddler festivals, aren't they?

MeanFiddler will restrict them to the one date then, to ensure sales are up for June 9th.

A good point sir - hadn't thought of that. Maybe they will do some big openairs of their own a la Finsbury instead ? 30,000 people at £32.50 a head is around a million turnover, and if they get a fiver out of each ticket sale it's a tidy earner.

Impossible, surely? Without the weight of an organisation like MeanFiddler behind them? And how would Mr Power react if the Order were to suddenly suggest they fund their own similar shindig, say up north instead? Not too kindly, I'd imagine.

I wonder what's on at Finsbury Park on June 8th? Is it only me that thinks it's a bit weird to throw a festival on a Sunday?

True on both counts. Power holds all the cards here. It's not so much a festival as just an oper-air gig though, isn't it ? Only two bands listed after all, several hours of DJ stuff though I guess to send us all to sleep first.

I should imagine this is a wet dream for the Barnster. 30,000 birds with one stone, so to speak. Means they don't have to trawl length and breadth of the country doing multiple gigs to pockets of people. Get 'em all in one go instead.

Should imagine Glastonbury's a no-no too. There's no way Vince Power would let them do another festival, especially seeing as how he didn't get his 20% cut in Glasters. I'd imagine he's got exclusive rights to them this summer, in this country.

Everything has said their one live date of the year - so I imagine it'll be Finsbree park and thats the lot as far as the UK's concerned. T in the Park's already been announced - they're just waiting for a confirmation from Oasis from the look of it.

I'm actually quite chuffed its a Sunday - gives me a good excuse to take the next day off from work. And normally I hate Sundays.
