I love NO but I am beginning to think that leaving them out of their videos is really now getting me to the end of my tether. The Crystal video would have been absolutely amazing if they had been the band in it
I know they want to make ground breaking videos with new ideas but 60mph was mildly amusing but just wasted a great song....... What does anyone else think ?
60 mph video was totally pointless and stupid. Why bother making a video like this? Crystal video was somewhat better, but still nowhere near BLT or True Faith videos.
it's funny that like to show up in their side project's videos. but not new order. i could have sworn i've seen bernard in almost every electronic video...
Videos are inherently pointless for a band like New Order. They are musicians, not filmmakers. Who really gives one if they aren't in the filmclip? Would it make the songs better if they were? NO have a history of not treating their audience and music with disrespect by 'playing the game', that promotional rock whore thing U2 et al do so well.
If you like a band for their filmcips, you'll probably need to reassess whether it's the sound or the visuals you really enjoy.

There's only been about half a dozen worthwile NO videos anyway - and The Perfect Kiss stands alone head and shoulders above the rest of them.

And Gillians very colorful face ... New Order have said numerous times that they don't want to be made to be all glamourous looking with makeup and everything in order to sell their music ... Unlike what the exec's want ...
I do like their video clips ... Especially Perfect Kiss, Bizzare Love Triangle (Your a really up person), and Regret ...
What about World? i thought it was a very stylish video and their cameo appearances in that were excellent. Especially Steve wearing that hat!!

Perfect kiss is a great vid.... but does anyone know who the guy is who walks through the door? You can see him also on the perfect kiss clips featured in the shell shock vid.
I don't believe I need to reassess how much I like NO, but I wonder how much bigger they might be if they played the game a little more than they do. I know from past interviews that Bernie doesn't want to be "like that Bongo geezer" from U2, but I don't speaks for all of them (Hooky especially). Implementing themselves in their vids could bring more people towards them as opposed to distancing them with obscure, colourful but pointless short vids. And theres nothing wrong with my hair... mullet indeed!

...all i have to ask is, how can you *not* be amused by the vid for "Touched by the Hand of God"?

seriously, though...i'm rather glad they didn't "play the game" more. cos then they wouldn't be *them*. and we might not be writing this.

Possibly, although as i think someone mentioned earlier, he didnt mind being in all the Electronic video's with Johnny and at times Neil from PSB
