I get lambasted for enquiring about the original Ceremony and other track versions and here we have somebody that was for quite awhile without two essential records.

Once you "get" Joy Division, Still is a must have for the earlier unreleased songs like Sound Of Music, Walked In Line, Ice Age and Glass.
Sound Of Music is in me Top 5 JD songs of all-time. Fcukin corker of a track!

Bad news: I broke the Substance CD case just now. I opened the case with the CD in it, put the case on my lap, and it fell. The bottom hinge of the case broke.
I don't know if I can order Heart and Soul. My mom would not be happy that I spend money on CDs. Ah, the life of a college student.

hey Co-z-monite61. that's excellent. watch. there's almost no turning back now ! those BBC recordings are a great start. whenever you get the others it'll happen in whatever time. they were/ are were such a groundbreaking/ shattering band. and so groovy. New Order are the remaining three so you get an idea of how much genius they had running. Ian's voice is untouchably cool. there are so many non-chalant, clear lyrics on tunes that don't tend to get as much attention.

14-K, My name has a z. It's cozmonite61. Thanx for the listening suggestions though. I couldn't believe someone would give away The Complete BBC Recordings. Then again, I live in the South. A used record store is paradise for an American JD/NO fan.

(I'm thinking of that Simpsons episode where they move from Springfield to a kind of pseudo-uber town typical of American style 'housing developments' in the mid-late 90s...Bart gets stuck in the remedial class and no one can lose at musical chairs)
Anyway, I just listened to Movement today straight through, curious to see how much it differed from PCL from the standpoint of the vocals. Hannett really processed everything-sounds like Bernard is triple-tracked on some songs. Still fond of the album even without taking into consideration the obvious circumstances. Although, I do prefer the Taras and the Peel Sessions for the most part. Especially when it comes to Dreams Never End and Senses.
