In the "one week to live" interview Hooky says there is a mash up of Gorillaz "dare" and New Order "confusion" floating about.

Anyone know if it's on the web and got a link to it?

(or if you are reading this mr. hook, would you be so kind to send it to Spotnick to put on this website :) )

Confusion vs Dare?!

I thought someone was trying to sneak a rogue entry into the New Order Cup for a moment! :eek3:

I guess it's a mash-up made by the Utah Saints for their DJ sets - nothing found on their appropriate websites (official and myspace)...

fingers crossed. I too hope that we will have a chance to hear it.

The mix was done by Utah Saints.

I emailed the Utah Saints website admin to ask about it. The friendly chaps there emailed me back very quickly and confirmed that there are only two copies in existence - Hooky has one and Utah Saints have the other.

They said it may "accidently" get posted onto the web for a short while sometime in the future, and will let us know if this happens.

Shall wait and see........

It's an excellent mash-up.Utah Saints played it at Manchester vs Cancer last January.

Now that's a mash-up I'd like to here...

Yeah, must be those strings... at least the slap bass sets it apart.

I think Dare sounds like it's got the arpeggiator from Thieves Like Us instrumental in it.

They say the thrill is in the chase, but I ain't got the legs to run that race.

Very interesting, but I wish we could see mash ups with other NO songs; Confusion has now been used on 'Dare', 'Walking On Sunshine' and 'Ain't Nobody'... there's probably more as well that I've missed...

The bassline is pretty irresitable and quite malleable, so I can see why it's utilised so much...
