Does anyone have this version and does it sound any better to the original box set or is this just some idiot dribbling shit to sell another box set to the over obsessed JD fan?

The sound on my copy of H&S sounds pretty damn good, and it was the original release, so how much more they could "remaster" it is beyond me......

i'm thinkin of buying the heart and soul box set.but i already own the 2 albums plus still and substance.is there any stuff on the box set not included in previous compilations? i heard the sleeve notes were really good aswell

As well as the stuff on the 2 studio LP's (as well as Still and Substance), there are also a few tracks from the shelved first album (pre-Unknown Pleasures), rare versions of Atmosphere (Chance), Ceremony and In a lonely place, plus an entire disc of live recordings of generally poor sound quality. A must for the completist, so you should buy it! Md

i don't know how much different the euro releases are from the u.s. releases, but i have the original box set, and on mine, the alternate-single-substance version of she's lost control has been remixed to sound more coherent and normal. WHY? why would they do this? i liked the way the parts would mysteriously appear and mysteriously drop out. what happened? and furthermore, i would give my eyes to here ian curtis sing the last verse of "in a lonely place"

I seem to remember reading at the time of release that In A Lonely Place had been edited for reasons of taste. I wonder who's decision that was?

i have the original box set released in 1998 does anyone have the new re-mastered version released in 1999? the track listing is entirly the same as the original but apperently tne 1999 version is a re-masterd version of the 1998 version

i cant see it the oddities and live tracks sounding any better on a re-mastered verison i mean most of it is a direct copy of the warsw bootleggs and as far as the live stuff is concerned they are bootleggs if these were original soundboard recording u would expect them to sound better but mind u look at the here are the young men video hello i cant see anything oh yes theres Ian Cutris the red blur in the centre of the screen.

im under the impression the sound quality just got worse or that the lyrics might have been something like"im going to kill myself" or something horibly distastefull like that
