There's another attempt to mine the Pixar/Toy Story goldmine out now, called "Ice Age" and at work we have little posters up promoting some bullshit contest to win free tickets or something like that. Anyway, everytime I see one of the posters touting "Ice Age", I can't help but start hearing the Joy Division song of the same name. Is it just me, or has every heavy metal band of the last 20-odd years lifted the riff to that (you know, it starts off the song and is there before the "ohohoh, living in the ice age!" bit)? Anyway, just thought I'd share......

i thought i was the only one who had that bastard song stuck in my head permanently. im sure my friends have no idea why i break into song every time i see that stupid wooly mammoth. and its impossible to sing that song quietly. you just have to belt it right the fuck out. those hollywood bastards have fucked us again.

i say that all jd fans should band together in protest against the hollywood machine that is screwing us all with love stories and happy endings, and against joy division for being so infernally catchy. we should all go like twenty of us at a time to our local multiplex and stand in the lobby just belting out the lyrics to ice age, filling in the drumbeats and instruments beavis and butthead style (dunt dadadada dunt dunt, living in the ice age!!!). though nothing will actually be accomplished by this, perhaps the song will be stuck in EVERYBODY'S head for the rest of their lives, so that i am no longer alone in my fixation.

In my opinion “Ice Age” is a good tune (I like that kind of raw stuff) but the most heavy metal song Joy Division ever did is “Novelty”.

Screw that, there is so much work in those type of movies, it's well worth the price to go see it! :)

I'll sure rent Monsters Inc when it'll come out.. I did some animation in my classes, and I can tell you it's amazing what those guys do :D

I've been putting a band together over the last few weeks consisting of New Order and Joy Division freaks and we finally got down to the rehearsal studios on the weekend and belted out quite afew NO/JD songs ... I'd have to say that the most fun and rocking track is Warsaw .. Followed by Colony ...
