Record store has some amazing items I never knew existed - Hessian cover of Still? An Ideal for Living picture disc? Box file? Cross of Iron / Heart and Soul? They are all really expensive though: Check them out:

search Joy Division and New Order - there are tonnes of rarities here - but since i've never heard of most of them I'm assuming some boots.

EDIT: Note $250 Atmosphere French single!!!

I can only afford to buy 1 of these. Should it be the Ideal for Livijng disc?

Have been to the store and viewed the items

Still has a material hardcover An Ideal for Living is a picture vinyl in a sealed plastic bag with no sleeve The Christmas vinyl also has a picture and no sleeve BOTH of these look brand new - too new in fact The $250 Atmosphere thing with the german name is in MINT condition - the sign says 'Insanely rare' The box set is 3 vinyl, has an individual number out of a thousand (this one is 251/1000) and the Unknown Pleasures artwork. All the singles seem in good condition except one which has no sleeve ( this is the Kamikano (sp) one whcih I read has no sleeve anyway) The Iron Cross looks like a cert bootleg, artwork looks like a computer printout The Shes Lost Control / Transmission / I forget ther other one single is just in a white sleeve and is not a factory release

This is all I can remember cos they were behind the counter and I had to stand there for ages like an idiot! Anyone know anything about any of them? Any guiding words on whci to purchase?

don't waste your money on the Atmosphere 7", it's the bootleg and only really worth about $50 and commonly seen on ebay.

'Still' and the 'Box File' are the most interesting musically, loads of good stuff to listen to, although 'Box File' is a bootleg (I think it contains the 'Warsaw', 'Komackino' and 'Le Terme' bootleg LPs repackaged in the box).

those pop up about once a week on eBay. not worth it if it's not the real deal (which sells for well over 200 quid), IMO.

Save your money. None of them are worth the silly coins being asked, especially the bootleg version of the Atmosphere 7", which is worth only a few quid, certainly not $250.

The Atmosphere one is the one listed on this site, Licht Und Blindheit, which seems to be rare. They all look quite impressive but if they arent wortth my dosh then i'll steer clear! Still looks good though in the big hardcover, but I have the album, so...

The Rockinghorse search engine tells you it is a bootleg copy of Licht und Blindheit!

The original hard/cloth cover of Still also had a white ribbon around the spine from top to bottom to hold the standard cardboard sleeves in place inside the hard cover. Sadly mine wore down and broke :(

only still & heart & soul are original items (assuming that's the cd box set).

i'd go for that as it contains 90% of jds recorded output but should be able to be picked up for £20 or so easily enough

If it was the original Licht Und Blindheit then it would be worth the Aus$250

But it says "Limited Ed. bootleg pressing of crazily rare French single / folio"

To my mind this isn't a bootleg. What it should really say is FAKE RIPOFF.

The Hardback Still is nice and probably worth Aus$99 if it's in good condition with the ribbon.

ta for the help - I have heart and soul, I bought it from there and it was about $95.00. I guess that 250 is a bottleg but they have them behind the counter so I can't be sure and I guess I dont have that much money to apend on something like that - I was going for maybe the picture discs and singles. Thanks for the help, its so harde to differenciate boots from real and thinbgs with my limited knowledge )although the discography is a massive help!) Atmosphere tripped me up cos it looks exactly like the one in the discography.

What's the name and location of this record shop you have been visiting? I find it hard to believe that a record shop in this country would have genuine bootlegs, i've only seen a few in my time and i'm in Melbourne.

i picked up a few good boots on melbourne myself. look harder. try heartland records and second spin.

sydney has great record shops as well, probably better than melbourne. the best one there would have to be redeye records. i think i may pay them another visit tomorrow.

Called Roclking Horse Records and its just off the Queen Street Mall in the CBD. And they are there - i've seen them! The staff also seemed sort of suprised that they had them too - they sort of stared and went wow, look at that when I pointed them out.

it is defo worth to check out the record shops once in a while. i've just come back from sydney with a few more goodies.

my jackpot would have to be a jetstream promo for $4. i know its crap, but still a very cheap promo.

other items i picked up are the hacienda classics, round and round 12#, a new us blt 12#, something called the blue monday slinder remix, and a movement t-shirt.

i did also see a love will tear us apart 12# for $160. it looks exactly like the one i got many years ago for about $10. no i did not buy that item.

edit: it seems the round and round 12# i got was minty mint. when i opened the shrink wrap a factory australia catalogue fell out. too bad i opened it.

You can get some good stuff from Ebay if you trust it. I got an original 12" Blue Monday sent from England - it was in really good condition.

now i'm not going to open my round and round remix 12#, which i got from the same shop a few weeks earlier, just in case it too is minty mint. also at the same shop i got a uk confusion 12# with the raised lettering.

there's good stuff out there. find it, but leave some for me.

Might have to try "Big Star Records" here in Adelaide. They are about the only shop I know of who would have that sort of stuff.
