I was just listening to that marvel Low-Life and I had this thought: wouldn't Sooner Than You Think be the perfect opener for a North American Tour? I can easily imagine some cool intro music mixing with Sooner Than You Think coming in (and a cool staged intro), and Barney coming in and singing:
"Hello everyone it's nice to be here, I've come so far to see you all..."
Plus, the song title would add some irony to the fact that New Order are coming back.
Just a thought.

I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, i mentioned here before that i would love to hear a "medley" of Sooner...and Perfect Kiss. They share the same electronic percussive sounds and would blend perfectly. Imagine the frogs chirping over the outro to Sooner Than you Think. I was thinking it would be interesting if their was some fan unity during the course of the tour i.e. 4 fans holding up SOONER - THAN - YOU - THINK signs...i'm sure the CEREMONY Flag will be flown...if nothing else, it should result in some nice sneering and heckling from Hooky. If it works in the UK, i'll start making my DREAM ATTACK sign now.
Brian, you would never see me holding up a 'Sooner Than You Think' flag ;) The weakest moment on LowLife, IMHO.
Did see New Order in Denmark in 93 and people there had actually made 'Standards' like the Roman armies used to carry, 15ft high or more. A 'Dreams Never End' one springs to mind.

So what did you think of "Special" being performed live? What I have on tape sounds a bit dull !

Yeah, think I might've registered twice - inadvertently - once at home, and then re-gregistered at work when I couldn't remember my original password!
From what (little) I remember Special was awful. Just sounded like Barney on karaoke with Steve's drumming behind him. My fondest memories of Denmark were the Swedish girls ;) Everywhere we went there were Swedish girls. Loads of 'em. Don't think we met one Danish person in the whole festival!

I've always thought that would be a great song for them to do over here...but I also think it might be just a tad too obscure for the audience to pick up on...but on second thought, they can all just piss off...

I agree just to hear them sing "Your country is a wonderful place It pales my England into disgrace" would be a bit ironic (and a bit NewOrder)just for the fact that they say they don't like touring here.
On that same note just saying "Hello, everyone, it's nice to be here" is a bit ironic...
