Another Electronic Album (I hope)

I love when Sumner, and Marr team up and make music. Their last album was slighty ok. I did enjoy raise the pressure... Hopefully they realease another record.

Sorry mate - your on your own with this one. While Electronic filled a certain void while NO were on hiatus, their stuff is still comparatively pants against the likes of Get Ready and Here to Stay IMHO. Md

Alas, any further Electronic output looks unlikely. While touring down here, Barney stated that he's committed to the Order and any further excursions with Johnny Marr are off the agenda.

Get the message, tighten up, free will, how long, for you, late at night, prodigal son, flicker... all great tracks. Would be interesting if they did another album, but i bet they don't.

I highly rate Electronic but it only ever was a side project, seems its full steam ahead with NewOrder for the time being, so probably got more chance of Marr guesting on a NO track to be honest..

The first Electronic album is an all time classic and one of the best synth albums ever made. It's certainly up there with the League's Dare, NO's Technique and Propaganda's Secret Wish.

I think most accept that Get Ready really missed Gillian (sales prove it), but the new single is a real return to form.

i loved electronic as well,don't think they'll get together again soon as marr has his own band now and is keen to concentrate on that.i got their debut single the other day.its completely different from smiths/electronic but i'm not sure whether i'm really into it yet.the second song 'need it' is a corker though

From what I have heard, there will be No more Electronic cds

I know that Im totally outnumbered here but does anyone else think that Raise the Pressure is Electronics best release ? I love all of them but Raise the Pressure does it for me more than the others ...

i think there was some good tracks on r.t.p. but it was a little too clean,sound wise i.m.o. whereas twisted tenderness was a lot more lively,but had weaker songs overall.'one day' is my fave track on r.t.p. for barney's line"i'd like to pay u but my funds are thin,i'm so in love with my shirt but i'll throw it in".i also like freefall and second nature.hope sumner and marr do another l.p.

A totally inspired start to ANY album i'd say :)

RTP does drift a bit towards the end but has got some cracking tracks on it!!

The whole of RTP sounds like they've spent far too long trying to force out songs. It should have been left at about 9/10 tracks, and left to sound a lot rougher. Some nice tunes though, particuarly the first 3 on the album.

a track off r.t.p. i've gotten to like a lot recently is 'dark angel'.barney sounds really laconic in the verses but the chorus just shifts into a different mood altogether.the music is really good too,especially the instrumental passage in the middle of the song.some good changes in there

actually i have been listening to it more than T.T. lately, and hardly listen to the first one at all.

I really dig the black shades Barney wears in the Forbidden City clip to ... Probably my fav songs off the CD ...

actually i have been listening to it more than T.T. lately, and hardly listen to the first one at all. I find the first albums dated terribly, couldnt get enough of it when it came out though!!

Dated??!!! How can electronic music sound more dated than guitars??! The first Electronic album is a classic with many people and is still the only one that shifted copies ;)

Whilst I still think the first Electronic album is brilliant I think I get I D's point about it sounding dated. A lot of the tracks on the first album (particularly Idiot Country and Gangster) are reminiscent of old-skool electro and even the ones with 4/4 beats use electro-style samples. Raise The Pressure (which I prefer slightly) sounds a lot lusher, especially in tracks like Dark Angel, Until The End Of Time, If You've Got Love and Freefall which are basically house tracks. Some of the poppier songs on RTP also have a more polished sound, especially Out Of My League. This may be the result of developments in technology in the five years between the albums but it may also be something to do with the album's budget. The first album was recorded for Factory (need I say more?) but the second was released on Parlaphone which had released Parklife and The Bends a few years earlier.
