So your still alive?
Havent a clue where the 'song' was recorded though.
Well, it kind of mentions it on the 24 Hour Party People site, although doesn't say for certain...
It could be Cargo Studios (later Suite 16) in Rochdale?

Original New Order Emulator

Floppy disc with Blue Monday samples on it
Britannia Row with the rest of PCL and digitally mixed down at Advision Studios in London(according to the book Pleasures And Wayward Distraction by Brian Edge). Cargo(later Suite 16 when owned by Hooky)/Strawberry were used during thier time as JD/NO while still working with Martin Hannett(Thus why they are featured in 24 Hour Party People). BTW, nice photo grabs from the movie site.

funny story. apparently after hearing blue monday the kraftwerkers sought out that studio to possibly record there, when they saw the old mixing desk, they just couldn't believe that it had been recorded there.
Thanks guys! How can i find out for sure if it was finished off at strawberry? Hey Liam, I'm still hanging around you know, a shadow of my former self, but managing to drag myself out for Moz of course. Which one are you going too?

Erm... Most of them! I have my own thread on BCD. Still got my number?
i've got an acetate of that record cut at Strawberry you can see a picture here:
ftp://recordscans.serveftp.com:21 user: bluemonday pass: strawberry
i had a look at the log but someone did manage to get the scans. (maybe it a active/passive mode setting?) or else i could mail you the scans
I am getting nowhere with the ftp, tried three programs in active/passive modes and nothing.
Why not host the images at imageshack or somewhere else?
I would be interested to see them.
cheers! Liam not got a phone at all anymore, living in a tin hut in Hulme now. None of your modern amenities.
hey i got to look at the sacns the first time round- i didn't mess it up did I? Very intersting- so it was mastered at starwberry- but I'm assuming that was strawberry south. No connection with stockport then?
well, its good to see that someone had no problems getting into my ftp server. i've been toying with the idea of making it public but if a lot of ppl have troubles getting in i'm not sure
Well the acetate would have been cut at Strawberry Mastering in London. This is different to Strawberry North or South (Stockport and Dorking).
The source I have states 'Britannia Row' 6.1.83 and 'Strawberry' 9.1.83. It doesn't reveal which Strawberry Studio so it could be either for all I know. Both existed at the time.
If new order had already stopped recording with hannet by then would it be more likely to be south?

Nobody goes to Dorking out of choice, do they? Not when they can do Stockport anyway. Ain't that right Liam?

Not bad, what you up to these days?
Will mail you to avoid having various people on here accusing me of posting MSN-type messages!
they did the second peel session in Strawberry didn't they, no Martin Hannett then.
I don't think it was obligatory that he produced them. In Strawberry.
:)

According to an interview done by International Musician & Recording World with Gillian & Steve in January 1987, the 1982 Peel Sessions were recorded at Revolution Studios in Cheadle(also used by ACR and 808 State at various times as well)with as Steve puts it "the original Mickey Mouse drum machine and sequencer", unlike the earlier single Temptation which was most likely recorded like the stuff done with Hannett at Strawberry. The band felt with the newer gear they had now bought(Emulator, Moog Source, Simmons drums, DMX drum machine, Apple II speech synth, vocoder,Prophet 5s and Polysequencer)a cleaner, less analogue mix was needed, which was possible at Advision but not at Strawberry until the mid-80s.
