Why did the 88 quid thread get locked?

This is an archived legacy thread. Replies are closed, but the discussion is preserved.

Seriously, that's a more interesting topic than a lot of the stuff around here.

We know who bid and who won, big deal.

As a collector of these CD-r's, I just want to know what the Guy Gerber remix sounds like. Is it a mix of WFTSC and is it exclusive to this CD-r?

Or will we get the holier than thou treatment as usual?

As you can guess, the winner is a member here and asked me to remove this thread. He doesn't want to get tons of lame emails asking him for a copy.

Yeah, I heard that.

Some members bring it on themselves, however.

Thanks for the reply, Spotnick.

We all know how those thread finish, don't we?

An item is worth what people are willing to pay for it... if I had money, I would buy it.

However I know that person will be more than happy to give samples to put on NOOL, which can't be said about others extreme bidders ;)

I'm still waiting for you to explain your inference of "some members bringing it on themselves".

Some members bring it on themselves by having a NOOL screen name similar to their Ebay ID.

OR

Some members bring it on themselves by talking about a recent win on Ebay and attracting e-mails.

I'm not at all trying to be personal about it and similar screen names may not be intentional.

It's just a fact that a lot of us collectors go on this site AND look at the winners of past auctions.

That's all. I don't know what prompted Nick's comment. He obviously thought I was talking about him.

Which Nick? Me?

No, I know you were not talking about me, I just said this type of threads always end up in frustration of losing an item you want at the last minute, or discussion about how many money people pay for some pretty useless item... I just think it's not worth it.

Nothing personal, personally, I don't give a damn about it.. I've been had on eBay enough to know that if I want to be sure to get an item, I must be ready to pay for it.

No, Spotnick, I wasn't referring to you. It's all good. :)

I wasn't trying to be smart when I replied to you Spotnick, but Mr. King, who I had always been kind to, saw it differently. When I said "Yeah, I heard that", the accent is on the word 'that' as in "I hear what you're saying". It's a southern-ism. I wasn't trying to be a wiseguy.

It also seems Ally was offended by my "some members" remark and I wasn't trying to single him out. I get and write e-mails about rare mixes and I have won some of the big auctions myself. I understand.

That's all.

If you understood my position then why did you create this thread asking why the original one had been locked? Especially if you'd realised why I probably wanted it removed? That makes no sense and now we have two pointless threads on the subject.

This is my final comment on the CDR business and MTO, I'd word your posts better in future if you want to avoid this sort of reaction. Spotnick, Nick King and myself all (and seperately) took the wrong meaning from what you were trying to say which doesn't win your original comments any clarity awards.

This thread should also be locked and removed if Spotnick or another mod has a spare second as it's having less to do with New Order by the keystroke. Ta.

I didn't know why it was locked until Spotnick replied to me, smart guy. Look at the order of the posts.

The thing about collectors is that collectors will pay stupid money for the items to finish their collections. in my eyes two fine and upstanding collectors namely mr nick king and senor ally monaco have been severely "dissed" by stupid comments from people who should know better.:nono:

Hey don't get me wrong,i'm a collector too and i dare say that nick, ally and myself included have probably the most up to date collection of new order promos here in the u.k.,but this is where the problem usually starts, since i uploaded my collection onto nool (a while ago,as did many others )i had many emails asking me for copies of some of the rarer items that i have,i sent some stuff to some people but not a lot. I spend lots of my money on new order rareities on ebay so why should someone else make a profit off my back.

As for the user id of fellow noolers being similar to their ebay user id's then thats their problem. Mine is totally different to my nool user id ,but that still doesn't stop the emails i get from people who "recognise" me from nool when i have won an item that they want copying.

To conclude, this thread is really a complete load of bollocks,if people want copies of rare items then buy them yourselves from ebay, dont ask for copies from fellow nool collectors or a nasty reply to an email/post may offend. The same sort of thing where you approach a garden gate, there is a beware of the dog sign but you still enter........

Might be worth locking this one too nic!

Personally I think its silly to "delete" a link to a public website that can be viewed by anyone because someone is "emabarrased" or doesn't want to get email.

...if you don't want to be emailed by noolers...edit your profile.

What gives someone the right to edit/delete a post if its not offensive or causing a real problem...I know its your site Nic and you can do whatever you like with it...but I just have to say something when I disagree with what I'm seeing.

my 2 cents...
