Rediscovered Classics

Just recently rediscovered an old classic "Hurt" (go go Hooky ) had neglected this for ages.... :( absolutly superb early NewOrder though, in danger of making my next top 10 :)

what classics have you recently rediscovered??

None, though I might have to read "Fanny Hill" after watching the film tonight :D

I revisit "Lonesome Tonight" and "Don't do it" every now and then, and I'm always struck by how excellent they both are. Guess I should listen to 'em more often then. Hurt is not one of my absolute faves, but it does have a certain charm, and catches them at an interesting stage of their 'career'. Md

i,d forgotten how good PROCESSION was until i was prompted by MAJOR TARANTINOS song review.. mind you i,ve been playing UNKNOWN PLEASURES alot just lately and DISORDER keeps doing it for me!!!!!!

Yeah, I've always thought DISORDER kicks arse!!!

Used to wonder how one would have felt when hearing DISORDER for the first time back in 79 when Closer was released......must've been awesome...

YOU ARE RIGHT....THIS IS A FANTASTIC TRACK...I REMEMBER HEARING THIS LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME @ NOTTINGHAM PALAIS AND IT BLEW MY MIND

I have only (last 6 months) just recently purchased a copy of Movement and from that have been discovering some old classics. How much does Dream never end (after the intro) sound like Friday on my mind (the Cure)? That was a fair rip off by The Cure, I expected to hear Mr Smith sing the opening line to it

i like movement. i don't quite know why everyone seems to have a vendetta against it. i don't even think that it sounds like jd, because barney's guitar playing was much different (more choppy, and abrasive rather than heavy).

Funnily enough i listened to Movement for the first time for ages this wkd.

Its not a bad album at all, Barneys still trying to sound a bit too much like Curtis but i didnt find myself skipping through any tracks (unlike Grrrrready!)

My latest rediscovered classic has to be 'Ecstacy' off PC&L :)

Yeah, Ecstasy definitely a hidden gem that one. Electronic's Idiot country's one I always come back to as well.

The whole "Cure" are a rip off NO. I kinda like Robert Smith songs but he should be paying NO royalties (I understand that one of the cure bassists did once pay Hooky a tener as royalties :p)
