I'm not referring to songs done specifically for movies, of course.

I can think of: Age of Consent Thieves Like Us Whistle Down the Wind

I think another is "Cries and Whispers"

Psy

No, but it's a lyric in Vanishing Point. At the end of the song:

And they gave him away Like in "Whistle Down The Wind" By the look on his face He never gave in

Let's not exclude the live pisstakes either.

I'm pretty sure "If It Wasn't for Your Big Boner" is the name of a porno somewhere. Not as catchy as "Lawrence of the Labia," but few are.

The title 'Vanishing Point' is itself named after the Barry Newman film of the same name. Primal Scream also named their '97 album after it.

Cool. I did not know that. I had this sneaking suspicion that Vanishing Point might be from a movie, though.

Ultraviolence references A Clockwork Orange, another Kubrick film.

The IMDb lists several films called Elegia.

In a reverse homage, there's a 2006 film titled Everything's Gone Green.

"The Beach" was based on a novel of the same name that was partly inspired by New Order's 'Blue Monday' instrumental 'The Beach' wasn't it?

Temptation is the most obvious one, probably 7 or more of those, starting with a silent sometime before 1920 I think.

I actually saw Kiss Of Death (1947) on TV circa 1984.

There's Shell Shock from 1964 and a late 30s cartoon called Blue Monday.

Also in the 30s, Ecstacy, with Hedy Lamarr's at-the-time shocking nude scene in a forest.

Bizarre Love Triangle came out last year.

How about "Shaving Ryan's Privates" ? A classic porn pun.

Joke title (from Friends?) "Doctor Do-me-a-little".

One of the Joy Division books (an ideal for living maybe) says they took a lot of their song titles from old movies posters that were lying around.

hence, The Sound Of Music, Shadowplay, Day Of The Lords, etc

heh I googled and there's a chinese film from 2002 called Unknown Pleasures!
