I read an interview with Sofia Coppola this morning and there WILL be New Order music in the movie.
The soundtrack is mixed of typical songs and modern ones.
Siouxie, Air, New Order, and the movie starts with Gang of Four... and there is also a swedish band, appartment something.
The movie is shown today in Cannes.

It looks like it's shite, actually. Just read in the newspaper today that it was received with a loud BOO!! at its first screening in Cannes.

I also read about the Cannes screening and when the credits rolled there were a few boos mixed with some applause - so it's not that bad. It could be just a few jackasses booing for whatever reason and now media jump on the story and the whole world thinks it's a crappy movie.
I could imagine a rival film studio sending some of their suits to boo it at the reception because they know it would get a mountain of negative publicity for some well-timed 'booos!' at its inital Cannes screening.

Never fear...this article from the Hollywood Reporter does a decent (albeit brief job) of explaining the boos from the audience and gives the movie a thumbs up review. Yeyy for Sofia

There are not only French journalists in Cannes during the festival, you know? Especially during the screening. Actually the movie both had very good and bad reviews here.

I think I'll have to check this movie out, though I don't know how much I like the idea of rock music in a period piece.
