WAKE UP YOU STUPID BASTIDS....the only people who can phone up for tickets, at 9 bloody am in the morning are fans who throw a sickie or Ebay money grabbing scum(im being nice about them as a fact...cos i really wanna say worse!) . i have missed out on three bands i wanted to see and within minutes the tickets were on sale on ebay at groosly inflated prices. Is it not possible for the members of this web site to get priority tickets?(2 each at the most)..cos it looks as if im gonna miss the only chance to watch my all time favourite band(dont think there gonna be playing live much longer)..as i have to work to earn money to feed my kids......boy im really pissed....sorry(spotnik Heeeelp please!)

know what you mean mate, sometimes have the same problem but lately ebay prices have been coming 'down' & tend to bottom out week b4 the respective gig, sometimes even lower than face value as in Norder last Nov & recent mozzer shows
I know exactly how you feel mate, don't forget ticketbastards an all - they make an absolute fookin fortune with all this booking fee etc... As for the bastards that snap up the best tickets and then flog them for a quick profit on Ebay 
I am double fcuked cos I haven't got the money cos of the Liverpool, Madrid and Barca trips.
it ain't going to sell out immediately, buy your tickets at any point in the day. Blackpool is all standing for instance so it just doesn't matter when you get them.
Another thing that's been happening is that some tickets get held back until the days before the gig and then sold, so you can often pick them up just before the gig itself.
Typical that's it a Friday they go on sale - only day of the week I can't be on the phone/internet at 9am... Feel sorry for those who can't get to one or other all day though...

I've never heard of any fan to outright defend the ticket prices of the touring industry...where have you been the last fifteen years? Ticketmaster has a monster of a monopoly, and it ain't good! Just because it's his favorite band doesn't mean he can't vent a little about prices. If someone said to me in a smarmy or nasty tone, "If you love 'em so much why don't you fly over?" I'd say piss off; not everyone can afford the expenses. It's just kind of an infantile criticism to tell someone to suck it up, unless you were being sarcastic. In which case, you ought to clarify your position.
don't think he was actually complaining about the promoter's prices but the possibility of having to get them off Ebay at inflated prices because the tickets will be snapped up too quickly?! thing is, there's always people on here buying more than they actually want so keep an eye out for anyone offering tickets (at face value more likely than not).

I don't think you can say that it all comes down to supply and demand in this case. Phil's complaining about the timing and lack of opportunity. The people who are alleged buying up all the tickets are the hoarders, who are buying them all as soon as tickets are available and then reselling them for their own profit. It's about one or a few organizations with more resources than the average Joe hoarding everything at the gate so that you have to pay more for it if you want it.
It's an artificially inflated demand if you want to call it supply and demand. If indeed the hoarders aren't buying up all the tickets, your average Joe assumingly can buy their ticket.
