Who actually decides which backing music to use at the BBC? Is there a background music production team? Somebody within Aunty Beeb is a massive New Order fan. A day doesn't pass without a nod to God's Group.
Bet they're gagging for the big move to Manchester/Salford that is in the pipeline.
on the daily England section on BBC interactive, the intro to Who's Joe was played
oh, and was in Manchester today, and saw a guy in a WIM tee. The first time i ever remember seeing someone else in a NO tee!

I thought it was a bit out of place though.

As is somebody within C4, they've played a lot of NO music backing trailers.

I thought it was fantastic and sent a shiver down me spine.
Great tune. Real patriotic. Glad it was for England.

Saw the BBC Atmosphere thing last night. If you synched *any* footage to that music it would look good.
RTE here (Irish TV) used Krafty last week in a similar way to introduce some match.
I think Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers lead singer) works in the BBC - wel he used to anyway - which might have something to do with the music choices for these things.

Not really when you consider the score last night and Rooney's very own "Walk in silence".
As an aside I was in the pub after the match and joined in on karaoke, singing "Jilted John" (aka "Gordon is Moron"). The name Gordon was soon substituted to Erikkson.
Go on, f**** off Sven you useless piece of turd. You see that's the problem we had. When the FA were interviewing him they thought he was talking about flat back fours when he was actually referring to 'flat pack' fours (special deal at IKEA at the time).
F***kin useless.

Posted this almost simultaneously, but not on this thread.:\ohwell:
Sorry, got over-excited. And I'm Scottish - who ever heard of a Scot getting over-excited? Especially where England are concerned? You can just just feel the irony oozing out of these words, can't you?
It was a wonderful montage, shown several times...right up to BBC Football Focus lunchtime a couple of hours before kick-off. And, lo and behold, the same montage appeared later with a more downbeat soundtrack.
Funnily enough, Scotland and England are 2 of only 5 teams to have gone unbeaten in a World Cup tournament without winning it (if you exclude draws followed by penalty shoot-outs).
Scotland were, of course, first to achieve (sic) this, way back in 1974 (Brazil also managed to do it in 1978).
On the other hand, England have been unlucky enough to have achieved (sic) more penalty shoot-out exits than Scotland.
Still, how many teams have been in THREE international quarter-finals in a period of four years? And with so many injuries to key players before and during the tournament?
Forget Terry's less-than-sparkling performances (apart from the goal-line clearance), forget Frankie's "zero-ratio of shots-on-target", forget Stevie's "great-penalty-taker-how-could-he-have-missed-that?".
Remember these instead - Gerrard's wonderful left-foot strike against T&T; Joe Cole's fantastic goal v Sweden; Beckham's brilliant free-kick goal. And the "England-captain-pukes-on-telly" footage on the news!
It's not enough for the 'golden' generation of England players. I wanted to sit my four-year-old down in front of the telly next Sunday and say to him, "Listen son, this is the World Cup Final. Try and remember every single minute because you will be forty by the time England do it again."
For years I recall my dad saying how he'd seen England win the World Cup and ManU win the European Cup. Back in 1999 I saw ManU become European Champions (I ain't Barcaboy99 for nowt you now) and then World Club Champions, but as I reach 33 I am still waiting for En-ger-land.
The clock is ticking & I'm still waiting for my second once in a lifetime moment...
During a documentary last night on benefit fraud there was a raid on a house (obviously). Anyway, only half caught it (so I may be wrong) but mid raid a mobile went off and I think the ring tone was IALP. Ace.

Best 'spotted' EVER! I'm tempted to insert a smiley.
"Brutal", "Ceremony" & "BLT" were on in my local last night. Why? Because I put them on the jukebox. Twice! ![]()
One of my husband's graphic design books had a picture of the "Get Ready" cover and a chapter on Peter Saville.

No mucker, afraid I'm not as keen as I once was.
picked up the car after getting the oil changed, Ceremony was just starting up...didn't really think much of it, until the song ended, and I learned I was hearing it on the radio, instead of off a CD...
that doesn't happen very often here in Texas...
as a matter of fact, can't say that I had ever heard Ceremony on the radio before...
