Hello Everyone,

I am have a time trying to figure out what a certain song is and hopefully your vast knowledge can help.

In the neworderstory,

What song is playing in the backround when Karen is talking about going to see New Order for the first time after Ian's ascension (RIP) and being quite surprised. Its also playing in the next clip of Bernard talking about running Ceremony through a graphic equalizer to figure out the lyrics Ian had written. The song then fades into the live performance of Ceremony. It is a truely beautiful song, but I can't figure out what it is, or what its called. Any help? Thanks and cheers to New Order.

PS. What song is playing on the main menu of the DVD for the neworderstory? Thanks again, you all rock!

I haven't watched the DVD in awhile, but if my memory serves me right it is "Avalanche" off of the Republic album. Gillian sings the only word "Faith" on the song. Aside from "Regret," "Avalanche" is my favorite song off Republic.

Yes! I do believe that is the track, I could only hear a 30sec clip on the net, but yes, that must be it. Thank You Very Much!

Dave Jones - another satisfied customer.

Do you think we'll hear from him again?

I used to go to school with someone called Dave Jones.

Mr. Nash you show fine taste. If only it ventured as far as your football.

Reminds me of the time the 'pool signed an Iraqi forward. After his debut he phoned his mother to see how she was.

"Bloody awful," she said. "I am surrounded by murder, rape and gun crime. I'm scared to venture out at night for fear of kidnap. We have had no running water for days & the electricity goes down for hours at a time."

"I'm so sorry mother," he replied.

"So you should be," she said. "It was you who insisted I move to Liverpool!"

'Tis only right a Manc should poke fun at the Scousers. I eagerly await your response!

From memory, I think it is avalanche in that bit; sticks in my memory, as she says "Quixotic".

The tune on the DVD menu is Sunrise, from the Album Low-life - one of their best ever IMO.

Cheers CTB :bear:

Whenever Peter Saville first appears in NOStory, it appears that the artwork for Here to Stay is on the projector. Can anyone confirm this?

Unlikely, given the relative dates. Neworderstory was made just after Regret, HTS much later.

The photo on HTS is of the Hacienda which had gone by the time of release. So it's probably just some pictures of the Hac. Or maybe the same picture. So you're probably right.

What am I on about?

Strangely, as I am writing this, the random image at the top of the page is this one:

Oh, its quite possible to hear from me again. I've only been into New Order for about 6 years, and they've changed mine and Im sure everyone here's lives. It was funny, before I posted I was reading around the boards and (not being much of a Forum-head) was amazed at how intimidated I was by the knowledge and experience possessed by a lot of you about the greatest band in the world. I've only had the pleasure of seeing them once 5/3/05, and a lot of you seem to prob. have attended before I was born, '83. Not saying old, just dedicated. Im sure you get lots of quick questions like, Hi, can you tell what that song is where the synth goes do, do, do,doo,do or the song where the lyrics go oh you've got blue eyes...and people are never seen from again. I just had no other way of finding the answer but to ask, and needed the answer. But if you'll have me, Im here to celebrate.

No, I meant Karen, not Gillian. Have you seen neworderstory? If somehow Gillian is magically about 70 years old, then yes Im talking about Gillian at that part, but if she's not, then Im definetly talking about the 70 year old record label lady named Karen.

Anyways, cheers and enjoy the envy I project from living in the states, and not NewOrderEngland. Enjoy the shows.

It's Karen Berg, she was an A&R for Warner Brothers and allegedly tried to sign Joy Division in the late 70's.
