a REVENGE question...

Back in the day I had the 12" for "Slave".

There was a Dub or Instrumental on there that consisted of the chorus repeating at intervals through the piece, and had lots of solo's of some kind of synthesizer.

can anyone tell me the name of this version, and more importantly, is there any way to get it digitally?

I used to listen to it frequently, and its been going thru my head all week.

some of you may wanna go back and listen to it...it was way cool...

after writing this question I went to amazon and picked up a used copy of the cd single for a couple bucks. It includes a Dub and an Instrumental....hopefully one of these is the one I'm looking for.

Have you got the LTM Revenge discs... I can't remember all the variants off them, but what you're looking for maybe on there...

funny thing is, I also checked ebay, and they had some for Sale, not auction, for mega-bucks...ridiculous amounts that did not even include the versions Im looking for

To make things more confusing, that US release has the Dub and Instrumental versions listed in the wrong order on the back cover and disc itself. Track #5 is the Dub and #6 is the Instrumental.

The best version is probably the Extended Mix (by Joe Smooth). The intro is very nice and the remix tightens up an otherwise somewhat clunky song.

Had the 12 inch version which was just under 6:00 mins. with Amsterdam. EDIT There are so many. :sleepy: cool JD . . . Been a few days. How is the listening going. Best to look out for the single releases ?! or simply No Pain No Gain 2005 for the live recordings. the thanks in advance.

WELL, the cd has ARRIVED! it's the US 9-track maxi.

as was cited, track 5 is listed as the 'instrumental mix' and track 6 is the 'dub mix'. and I DO believe this is wrong. the titles are switched.

Track 5 is in fact the one I was looking for, and I believe it is the DUB. it is way cool. can anyone tell me what the keyboard/synth/sax sound is that solo's throughout? sounds like that thing barney plays at the beginning of LoveVigilantes..like a wierd harmonica toy thing. Anyone know what it is?

Well what Barney plays on LV, IALP, YSF, etc. Not sure if that's what you're referring to on Slave... Doesn't ring a bell, but then I'm so confused with which mix is which now, I may not have the one we're on about...

If you've ever tried to listen to all of the Slave mixes at once, you'll want to run outside and either hit someone or shout out loud!

I tried it once, and nearly lost my mind!

ouch. Find that listening to most any single too many times can set one -hypothetically speaking out in a different sort of detached mood. Or still 'in the tune.

heh heh...they aint all THAT bad,,,but they aint all that great though, either.

I do like hooky's vocal attitude and affectations....he needs to do more sidestuff and develop his sound...maybe he should do duets with barney on NO stuff....
