In addition to Peter Hook's DJ appearances at the Earthcore Festivals, he's now joining the bill at ParkLife.

Should be going to UK on 30th Sept for a fortnight so yet again, bad timing - Although I might make the Newcastle gig if I can get tickets!

Yes!!! All dates are after my 18th!!!! I have no idea what parklife is though... I'll have to suss it out and find out, hope its not too expensive, at least its not far away. Now I have to figure out who can can with me! Have to recruit a friend.

Perhaps after Parklife he intends to do a DJ set up here - maybe at the fabled Egyptian Theater you've seen online. I think I'll put 24 Hour Party People on just to prove his point.
Showtunes are my specialty, DC. I'll brush up on a few and throw in some rarities and B-sides. Do you have access to sno-cones there? I'm a sucker for a good sno-cone between sets.
It's a pity Patrick's not around any more. He loved a show tune.
Not sure whether they'll be doing sno-cones at Parklife, LE. You just don't see them much down here. The last time I enjoyed one was at Seaworld on the Gold Coast.

The rumours about Peter Hook not appearing at the Earthcore Global Carnival Victoria (24th – 26th November at Undera), have been put to rest.
Earthcore has been weighing up their contractual and legal rights for a number of weeks since his management and booking agent tried to cancel the Earthcore tour despite signing a contract and accepting a deposit. Earthcore had hoped to resolve the issue, however this has not been possible.
Earthcore organiser Spiro Boursine stated “Despite his management and booking agent signing an exclusivity contract for Victoria and Queensland and accepting a booking deposit with Earthcore earlier this year, less than six months later they proceeded to break the Earthcore contract by accepting the Parklife tour, then renegged on the Qld Earthcore appearance all together, finally refusing to return to Australia for Earthcore Vic at all, due to the close proximity of the Parklife tour. Earthcore has done it’s best to resolve the situation for fans and ticket holders, however this has not been possible.”
Earthcore apologise for any inconvenience caused by this matter.
Spiro continues to say “Given reports about the questionable integrity of Hook’s sets at Parklife in Melbourne over the weekend it is just as well that he won’t be on the bill of Earthcore to tarnish the solid repuation of our festival to provide quality acts. It’s just a shame that his management have misled us and the public by signing a contract.”

What was the source of that info? Earthcore press release? Seems the rumours have been substantiated rather than "put to rest".
Those grapes are almost rancid. Wonder who's to blame here? Event promoters guaranteed me months ago that Hooky would be appearing exclusively to Earthcore. After Parklife was annnounced, we did express surprise that he'd do both tours (see page one).
At the end of that day, Parklife was always going to be a better fit for Hooky's sets given their schedule and line-up. Earthcore seemed a bit hippy-trance. The sort of thing that CTB might rock up to in the bush, his tree-beard flowing and tie-dye smock flailing as he danced for Gaia.

FESTIVALS #9: HOOKY DROPS EARTHCORE Peter Hook will not be appearing at the Earthcore Global Carnival Victoria (24th - 26th November at Undera).
