Interview with Hooky on C4 teletext p.453 today sees everyone's fave bass God state that a new Noo Ordah album will begin construction in September. Given the eight year gap between Republic and GR I'd take this with a pinch of salt, but for now it looks like they're here to stay, indeed.....

September probably means early 2003 but that doesn't matter ... As long as they get back into the studio and record something new ... Can't wait ...

why is every one so cynical? hmmmmm, let the track record proove it! always with the release dates pushed back, the who thing with Factory Records collapsing, ect. The history of the band is the story......

If that is true, then I'll have to seriously consider that they are NOT going to tour on the east coast of North America for Get Ready.
But I'm pretty sure they'll find a single to release to promote the summer tour, could it be FINALLY Turn My Way? (I'm getting on the nerves of everyone with that one, I'm sure!)

well...this certain single could possibly be "World in Motion 2002" with David Beckham. But god beware... On the other hand i'm not too pessimistic about their plans to go into the studio in september. I've got that feeling, that they think that time is running away. Their all in their mid-fourties...so this could be a "hey we're going straight to the fifties, let's rock for the last few years."

Turn My Way ??? Forget it. Not a hope in hell. I don't know why you keep banging on about it . It is not one of their best. Someone Like You on the other hand...

Nick, sorry to disappoint mate, but this simply will not be happening. I love TMW also & took it's case to the man himself Andy Robinson.
'I love Turn My Way' AR said, 'it's a really mellow track but it wouldn't work as a single'. I contested constructively, 'yes it would' at which point Mr Jarvis interjected before I got us all chucked out of the party

I tend to agree with Mr. R about TMW not being your typical FM radio single nowadays, but I'm sure it would get a lot of attention by the rockier alternative/indie stations, as well as any TV channel broadcasting videos (if it were any good).
If there would be only ONE reason why Turn My Way should be released, it would be because of the fuzz it would create because of Billy Corgan. But the track is pretty strong also IMHO... great chorus that sticks into yer head!
I am pretty disappointed with the outcome of the promotion Get Ready got. It's near a FLOP, while they had everything in their hands to make a success out of it. They didn't even have the balls to release tracks such as Rock The Shack or Run Wild. That would have been atypical, and very NewOrderish too!
I don't think Here To Stay will break any glass -- I expect it to be ignored by most radio stations in North America. I think it has club potential, though...

I agree .. All these tour dates, a new single, talk of a new album .. Im just hoping that they come back down to Australia after the new release .. Otherwise I'll be spending big money to see them somewhere else ...
Does anyone think that Phil will have a role in the songwriting ? Or is he just their live man ?
