Bollocks tracklisting, they could've made a bit more of an effort :shrug:

Shug's DVD was ten times more interesting than this one they're releasing too; no interviews or TV appearances here even though (thanks to Shugster) we know they did loads of 'em. I'm just pissed off they decided not to open the vaults and give us some remastered demos on a second disc like Hooky did with One True Passion v2.0.

A missed opportunity methinks...

Well it has my 3 favorite songs (Like no other, Vivid & Twisted Tenderness) so thats good, but its a shame we have everything on it. As for the dvd, missing late at night video is a shame since it was one of their better videos. (Why when I watch it do I think of the vikings?) Its also missing one of the Getting away with it videos, Feel every beat Extended video, and two alternate Get the message videos.

I will still get it for the dvd, even if I think my dvd is better.

Well lets see if they release this in North America with a NTSC DVD???

Actually since I don't own the RTP singles, there are songs I actually don't have on this ;)

Funny they consider b-sides as "best of"... true they had good b-sides like Warning Sign and Second To None.

Is it just me or is it a weird release? :confused2:

They did hardly any promotion or gigs when they were current. Other than New Order/Smiths fans, who will remember them? And most people who cared have got everything anyway. i just can't see anyone giving a shit especialy as there is nothing new or obscure on there to entice you.

I can't believe this is true... I can't wait to go out and buy this CD... I actually got into Electronic by hearing the song "Getting away with it", and I'm a huge New Order and PSB fan, so I actually like them. :love:

Go out and buy the albums then and you'll have 80% of this Best Of well before the release date :shrug: All the albums are dirt cheap on eBay so you're looking at under a tenner for all 3 normally.

I couldn't be any more underwhelmed with this Best Of if I tried really, most Electronic fans can knock that tracklisting out onto a CDR in five minutes.

I'm beginning to wonder if the band really did have any input on the whole project :skeptic:

Sounds like you need a code-free DVD player. They are about the same price as the "regular" ones. I purchased mine through the internet after googling code free dvd. I live in the U.S. so this is absolutely necessary if you love British music like I do.

It would have been great with ALL the video's, but hey-ho it's better than a kick up the arse.

As for the Best of... well it is a wasted opportunity. Can't believe they have left out Second Nature, and the ommission of Some Distant Memory is a travesty.

Still, Electronic kept me going through the lean years, and the debut album scored a few brownie points for me with the ladeez in Magaluf at the time. Well done boys :smoking:

The utterly necter music,of the last 2 minutes of Some Distant Memory are not on the "Best of" Electronic :confused2:

Who compiled it? Then again,"best of"New Order was'nt really "best of" was it? :shrug:

just who here is going to buy this? i think most of us own the albums and a few singles. thanks to a certain somebody we even have just about all the video footage as well.

a bit more extra stuff like remixes and b sides would have been nice.

ok perhaps for the pristine vids.

I think leather girl put it best...those who care have the lot already and can knockout any superior song list of their choosing, inclusive of the b-side singles. It is hard to imagine either bloke having any input into this, but then again underachieving is low mark often aimed at and hit. After the superb eponymous s/t debut, Electronic became a band that put out marginal albums with some really incredible songs on each release. Ahhh, too lament the potential, and remain melancholy over the delivered results. And to think they locked themselves in a basement to toil away on an album that was obsolete by the time it saw the light of day. Hash is hash is hash no matter how served.

I have to agree with you guys on the tracklist. It's a bit on the skimpy side with no "bonus features." Because I am a big fan, im going to purchase this anyways. Im guessing it's going to only be released in Europe, right?
