Perhaps some of you Avid fans can help me.

I'd heard the "Get Ready" album on the net, and being a good fan, I finally got around to purchasing the album. The version of "Someone Like You" on the album was very much different from what I had heard on the net (Bernard singing, slower beat, etc.) The net version had a girl singing instead, and a much more techno beat. It was a much better song, but it is not on the album I bought. How do I get my hands on this version? (all versions on Kazaa cut off around 5:56). The "Get Ready" I had heard from Kazaa also have a track called "Special" which is not on the album I bought (Canadian issue).

I'd appreciate any answers or info you may have.

There are several mixes of SLY on Audiogalaxy mate, by the sounds of yer description the version you heard was one of the Gabriel & Dresden mixes - and yeah - it's pretty good;)

In fact, that's the version my coz played on his radio show a few weeks ago. Definitely better than the album cut....

Special is from Republic.

Someone Like You mixes are available on the 60 Miles An Hour UK import CDs. If it's the Gabriel & Dresden mixes, they are only available on vinyl 12" LPs..

Of course there are promo CDs floating around on EBay, but prepare your blank check..

If Barney sings in tune on 'Someone Like You' it's the Gabriel & Dresden mix. :D BTW the version I downloaded is over 11 minutes.

I've also noticed that there a number of versions of Special out there that indicate that it is from Get Ready. :nonono: That has to be the most annoying thing about d/ling stuff: the number of files that are mismarked or incomplete. I would've assumed that most NO fans knew what album Special was on.
