A couple of years ago, one of the clever members here noticed on Retro that there was a missing drum beat in Ceremony. If Retro contains remasters, are they then using that same version on International and Singles? Or do those two releases not contain a remastered version?

The best mastering of the "Substance 1987 Ceremony" is definitely on International if I remember correctly, the one on Retro does have a split second where the sound muffles then "disappears". International - despite the pointlessness of the track listing - is one of the best sounding NO CDs to have I think 
Retro's mastering could've been handled better in places and the screwed up Ceremony backs that up.
Some people weren't happy with the mastering on Singles I.e. the tracks were just "made louder" rather than actually remastered, I can see where they're coming from there. There's a few other NOOLers who really know what they're talking about regarding audio mastering so perhaps they've got something to say here 
Wow... I never realized it was "remastered" so many times. You figure with all the double-dipping, they'd have done it properly at least once and just use that one.
Have their been any rumors about remastering in 5.1? Seems to be the trend these days. I can't imagine the original masters being in different shape than DM's Speak and Spell since its the same timeframe. The 5.1 may sound a bit cheesy for Movement and PCL, but the dvd would contain a proper PCM version.
I've said it before, but I bet that Warners will remaster the entire CD collection at some point in the future (makes sense, and it seems that everyone's doing it nowadays)!
If you're a Pet Shop Boys fan, then you could fork out for yet another set of reissues in September (God knows what they're going to do this time)? :p

I've actually been thinking lately that this is due to happen sooner or later. and that it's probably overdue. Not looking forward to rebuying everything, though, or to screwups like the intro to Blue Monday.

You probably have plenty of time to save your money. Depeche Mode and the Cure have more albums yet to be released, and they basically sell to the same audience as NO. There's a pretty good chance NO remasters would be released on Rhino, not Warner. Rhino is also handling the Cure, so they probably wouldn't want to compete with their own products. They wouldn't want to flood the market either, since the Control soundtrack will be out next year.
If NO does get the remaster/reissue treatment, I wouldn't expect anything to happen until late 2007 or 2008.

Nope, you're not alone - I can't tell the difference on Singles, either! As for the missing drum beat(s) off Blue Monday or Ceremony, erm... what missing beats? :)

I've read it's to be 2CD remasters of 'Nightlife' and 'Release', and cheapy, single disc reissues of all the previous albums (using the 2001 remastered versions again) - to cash in on their current resurgence.
